loose connection

I bought these to extend my guitar cable. After using one I checked for continuity with my meter and it showed good results, but when I first used it with my rig I had no signal. I rotated it 180 degrees and it worked, but I'm not sure I can rely on it. First of all, it was necessary to take a longer cable. It may be fine for home use, but unreliable for a concert.
