Easy to use but overhead USB

Works seamlessly with Mac, Windows and Linux. FreeBSD support isn't quite there yet. Also, the overhead of USB can affect performance somewhat. That's why I opted for 2.5 Gbe instead of 5 Gbe. The USB overhead doesn't justify the 5Gbe version. Sometimes it doesn't pick up some NBASE-T speeds, but after a reboot it usually reappears.

Reliable on my m1 mini!

I bought this to increase my LAN bandwidth. This network card works perfectly on my m1 mac mini! No need to install drivers, macOS will recognize them immediately at 2.5g speed. I work full time 8 hours a day, haven't had any problems waking up etc. The price is excellent, the brand is respected, the size is small. Wishlist: - USB C without adapter (same price) - White color

Easy to install on computers and accessories

Google now offers a 2GB service in some regions. Kansas City has it now. Unfortunately, Google doesn't have a checklist of what's required to fully use the service. Now with this device and a 2.5GB switch I get 2020 megapixels per second and 960 megapixels per second. I have 3 4K POE security cameras plus 2 1080P doorbell cameras. With improved internet speed, I can now click cameras instantly.

Pros
  • This is amazing

Provides a connection of over 1GB

This adapter is light and small, although of course the extra bits/cables will fill the bag. Most people need to download the drivers from Cable Matters but end up on the Realtek website. I connected an adapter to the USB-C port of a Dell Dock (WD-19 Dock). and this dock uses the same Realtek driver so I already had it installed. It worked with an XPS 13 (older, no USB-C) with USB-A and a Latitude connected via the USB-C port on the aforementioned dock. .

Puzzle. Bad adapter?

Tried on Linux and Windows Windows 10: The computer beeps like a new device is detected, but it doesn't show up anywhere. No network adapters, no errors in Device Manager. Can't get it to work with either USB-C or USB-A. Linux: I have to admit that this confuses me a bit. The adapter works well (at least with gigabit), with a USB 3.0 Type-A connector I can transfer 850 Mbit/s down and 53 Mbit/s up, which is about what I would expect from my service. Strangely, when I use the USB-C adapter, it…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Defects present

I work from home and deal with large datasets every day, hence was 100 MB/s over a standard gigabit connection has always been less than desirable. 10Gbe adapters are still very expensive, so this is the perfect temporary solution. For about $30 I get consistent (large files) transfer speeds of about 280MB/s. Yes, it's not exactly 2.5 Gbps, but about what you'd expect. You won't get exactly 125MB/s over Gigabit Ethernet either. Here's my setup: - TrueNAS server with disk-based NVMe and RAID5…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Could damage
