Great as a portable dock

I bought this as a dock for my Dell Inspiron 13 Series 7000. It worked exactly as described right out of the box and allowed me to connect an old monitor to the VGA port, my old USB -Keyboard and mouse to the USB port and my CAT5 cable to the Ethernet port. It's very light and small, which means it's portable, which comes in handy if you have a second desktop somewhere. I ended up returning it because it didn't have a power adapter or audio jack, so every time I was at my desk I had to connectโ€ฆ

Works with Linux! for Computers and Accessories

I bought this for my Dell XPS 13 9350 as I need HDMI, VGA and Ethernet. It seems durable and works like a charm! However, I've encountered issues with the projector using VGA so I can't get VGA to work at the moment, but I think it's a projector communication error. I'll have to try another VGA peripheral some other time and report an update. Currently my HDMI, Ethernet and USB connections are tested and found to be good! For all other Linux users this works (unlike Dell from what I've heard)โ€ฆ

Good cheap simple

I like the Thunderbolt 3/USB C situation. All ports work as advertised (although monitors over 1080p with HDMI have not been tested). My only complaint is that the Ethernet and USB ports often don't initialize when I connect for the first time. See below. My typical experience is: Plug the VGA, discrete USB 2 hub, and Ethernet cable into the Cable Matters adapter, then plug the Cable Matters adapter into the laptop's USB C/Thunderbolt 3 port. Good price for computer and accessories

Works well. Initially I had a few issues with the USC and Ethernet ports, but after a bit of research I managed to find the problem. My Dell Inspiron 7579 2-in-1 laptop needed a BIOS update (although the Dell Updater utility said everything was up to date). This allowed for a slight improvement in device detection as my USB devices were now at least powered but still not working and Ethernet still not working. Installing the drivers called "Realtek USB GBE Ethernet Controller Driver" from theโ€ฆ

Worked great for about 2-3 months before the video output stopped working, but otherwise worked great.

I bought this for my boyfriend in the UK in December 2016. I worked 3 months and the video output with HDMI and VGA stopped working. As the item was used in the UK and I'm in the US I couldn't figure out why there was no video and my non-technical friend struggled with the laptop display for three months before I was able to return to the UK for a couple of months later. weeks ago and found that the device had died. Works great, Dell monitors may not work well

Not the prettiest adapter, but the beauty is that this adapter offers something that even Apple can't offer for a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 adapter Adapter offers VGA connections, HDMI, USB 3 and Ethernet in one. I have tested the USB 3, VGA and HDMI ports and they all work with the 2016 Macbook Pro Fall with Touch Bar and it works great. With VGA, on a 20" Dell monitor, I noticed that the color cast was a bit green, but not consistent. I hooked up a Panasonic HDTV via HDMI and VGA and the color wasโ€ฆ
