This is a very affordable product. The cable is too short to plug in and use on a table. It rarely starts and needs to be pressed lightly for the shaker to work. After all, this shaker is loud! It was a quick return for me and I agree with other reviews, spend more to get a better product.

Purchased to stir paint for small models. Unpacked, plugged in and touched the top with your finger to activate. I shook it for 2-3 seconds my finger slipped off the activator and that was the last thing this machine did. No obvious broken parts etc., just refused to do anything. Went back and spent the extra money to get a reputable lab quality vortex shaker.

I bought this vortex mixer a few months ago and it's good. I have been a microbiologist for over 20 years and use the vortex mixer daily to prepare samples. This blender is not suitable for intensive use. It will get the job done most of the time. Most of the time, you just have to turn the mixer a little to get it spinning, sometimes, inexplicably, it doesn't do anything at all.
