Calphalon Classic Pots and Pans Set: 10 Piece Nonstick Cookware with No Boil-Over Inserts Review

I bought my first Calphalon cookware set 30 years ago and it's still like new. I just got my first apartment. I have never seen a young man so enthusiastic about kitchen utensils. Glad to see the quality is as good as always.

I was trying to get a great set of pots and pans as I usually always cook at home. I looked at the reviews, everything seems cool, but this is complete nonsense. I was willing to spend big bucks on breaks and pots because we always cook and Walmart sells that brand. Some pots that we haven't even used are starting to rust.

TL/DR: If price is your main concern, ceramic coated kits are cheaper, just as effective and more durable. If not, a fully clad stainless steel kit is a much better investment. Good: Durable, lightweight pans with effective non-stick coating. The cooking inserts work well and are a great bonus. Cons: The metal on the lids is a little flimsy, the handles get hot, the teflon coating is very soft and gets damaged after a few uses with wooden utensils.

I haven't had this set for a long time but so far I'm very happy. The only small issue is that the pot has two lips and the lid doesn't go down far enough to ensure a good seal. When covered it releases steam so it's not my favorite pot for cooking rice. BUT I really love the drain pot for cooking because the lid serves to drain the water from the food. And the anti-spatter silicone inserts are great. Good weight pots with glass lids, just what I wanted.

I really liked this cookware. But after literally 2 weeks of use, every one I've used had scratches on the case. I usually wash them in the sink instead of the dishwasher. I love the way they look and cook but it seems I'll have to get used to the ugly look as I don't have the packaging or desire to return such a heavy order. Updated rating. We were delighted to receive this set to replace the salt cabbage pans we have been collecting for years. But 6 months later I really regret that we didn't shop at the local store and spend money on something permanent. Sure you could spend a few hundred dollars more on an All Clad set, but why bother when you get just as much benefit from Calphalon? The feel and aesthetic design are great and this set proves to be durable and strong. They are light but not cheap. Measurements inside the pots are very useful.
