🚪 Enhance Home Safety with the Camco 43971 Aluminum Screen Door Push Bar Review

I installed this on a house sized screen door. This is a full view door with removable windows and I have replaced the screen twice a year because people insist on pushing the screen as the windows don't open in summer and fall. There is a thin aluminum crossbar on top of the screen portion, but it also won't depress and sags menacingly in the middle. I decided to put this on the door so this little board doesn't break in half and I don't break other people's necks. So far, so good.

Could have been a little better finished and designed and deserves 5 stars. :(It "REALLY" works for what it's supposed to do (it's a freaking doorknob). But. As another reviewer said, although within the width specifications this handle will not fit all doors and you won't know how bad it is until you poke holes in your door. I had to modify my van's door to accommodate a grille, but that's not the right thing. Between the rod and the screen, the minimum distance can be 1/2 to 3/4 inch. I spent 2 days fixing my broken screen door and decided I needed a push rod to prevent the screen from being damaged again. I have a wooden frame with an aluminum inlay that everyone was always pressing on, it would pry out the screws, crack the wood, push the screen out.
