Unsafe for electricity and electrical appliances

We bought plugs and sockets. They don't reliably match, let alone other connections. I have to hold them in place with tie cords to make good electrical contact. Looks very well made but is sloppily assembled which you don't need with the electrical connections.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • old

Easy to install on Power & Electrical

Like many products of this type, it is easy to install. I would have liked a more rubberized version, as this hard plastic becomes brittle over time and in the sun. I taped the connectors around and will probably put some kind of waterproofing compound on the connector to keep water out.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Good but not the best

Internal spring connector is weak and soft, heats up and fails over time

The internal female clamp that contacts the fork blade loosens and becomes loose. It heats up, sparks and can cause a fire. The yellow plastic part is good and the connection was easy but this relaxation started after 5 or 6 uses. not good

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Best you can get

Remember, if you need to run a cable through any port, you need to make sure it fits. Besides, these are the best connections you can get. The instructions are great. It takes about 10 minutes to install and they are durable. I've used quite a few others and there's just nothing I can compare them to.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • skinny

What can I say? good for plugs, sockets and sockets

They are essential to your RV but I have looked through too many of these kits. They melt and close very easily. The pins are ALWAYS too short. to make really good contacts. I use bungee cord to hold them together because of the short pins. You really need to improve the quality of these items as your life may depend on it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Has some imperfections

Fantastic plug for RV shore power extension cord.

This is a great motorhome extension socket. The handle is comfortable and once you have the male counterpart you won't be tempted to tug on the cord. My wife has arthritis and this is the only fork she can use. Wiring is easy and safe - there is no risk of short circuits if you are good at wiring. The directions are very easy, so switching between L and N shouldn't be a problem.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Traded in

RV link to Power & Electrical

Drove 150ft, used 8/2w external ground wire. The measured output voltage after connection was 119.7 V. The processed 8/2 wire was simply wrapped several times with insulating tape to make it fit better. We've been to campgrounds where we learned they used 10/2 and extended 250 feet out of the box and used a garden hose for underground water. Had low voltage problems on 3 RV's including mine and burned out the hot side of the 30 amp wire on all 3 RV's. The camper next to me had to call the fire…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • I will add later

Serious failure could start a fire

This fork is well built and easy to assemble. It has one fatal flaw: the internal teeth do not grip the connector pins. This will loosen the plug and socket. This is extremely dangerous as this socket is rated at 30A at 120VAC. A high impedance connection at this current level can cause the connector to overheat and/or catch fire. i will return it And the last hint: The screw eyelets lie directly on the copper wire. This is generally a very bad idea as the strands can very easily come loose…

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Nothing here
