🧥 Ultimate Winter Protection: Canada Pooch True North Parka Review

I liked this coat and am planning to order it in a different color but am very disappointed with the reflective grey. When I received it the gray was already chipping and after trying it on it cracked even more. You might think that if you spend that much on a coat, it will look good for at least a month or so. However, it is nice, warm and well built.

I bought this for our 40kg American Pit Terrier. We live in Colorado and her thin coat just wasn't enough for our cold days. It's very well made and warm and has held up well for the two months she's been wearing it so far. I'm sure it will serve for many years. I'm definitely giving it 5 stars for the quality and warmth, but I'm deducting one because of the Velcro fasteners on the stomach. With the top opening, getting in and out would be much easier.

Our pup is a bit odd shape, Doxen/Terrier mix. Its broad chest and long legs, combined with its very long body and thick neck, make it almost impossible to find hair. A size 18 fit him almost perfectly, except for a little more room around his stomach. The only advantage of a velcro strap was that we could change the strap without much difficulty. The length was still a bit short to cover his butt, otherwise it was a perfect coat! And red was a great color!

When the coat arrived I found the fit, stitching and overall finish to be of a high standard to justify the cost. Unfortunately, after just two weeks of daily use, the reflective material on the main body of the coat has cracked and chipped in multiple places; separation from tissue. What appeared to be a well thought out and well made product turned out to be untenable due to a lack of materials. Red and yellow might be a better choice, but I can't confirm it. Pros: warm, reflective, strong velcro that stays in place, easy to put on, leash hole, waterproof, good fit, slows dogs down a bit (hyperactive dogs - remember how heavy the jacket and the Snow is pants slow you down). Cons: The velcro requires attention when putting it on. (See pic, it was my fault, snaps help prevent this) Slows down dogs (older ones, definitely affects stamina).
