Best I have ever used, great product for anyone!

Since the lens is designed for video shooting, it has a more advanced stepping motor for focusing. When photographing, I specially "chased" it under different lightingcomnditions and on different objects. Pointed at the center point, hits right on target. I think you should always buy everything new, improved. Purchase was satisfied as an elephant. Put the previous version of the EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens on the shelf. In terms of price, the more advanced but older f/1.4 modelcomsts twice as…

Pros
  • Tenacious autofocus, low-noise focusing, 7-blade rounded aperture.
Cons
  • Did not reveal

The plastic mount was later added to the Canon budget fifty dollars in order to appease marketers. The original version of the camera had a metal mount. Optically and mechanically, they remained the same; nonetheless, they squeaked when focusing and frequently missed the mark because of backlashes. But, it was the plastic lens that gained popularity since, for just $100, it made it possible to take crisp pictures with lovely blur (when it did not miss). On the bugs, Canon engineers have been…

Pros
  • stronger construction than the previous iteration (II). quieter focus drive motor, metal mount. Focusing is easier, and there is less misses. Unlike the previous iteration's 5 blade diaphragm, this one has 7 blades.
Cons
  • It is 30 g heavier than its forerunner. The center is described as being less acute. The cost was comparable to the EF50 F1.4, and the image quality was constant.

In general, its pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

I compared it with the existing Zenitar 50 / 1.2 (at the same aperture values), but I wanted a light and simple replacement lens. Well, it’s like a toy - yes, but you can’t expect anything serious from this Canon lens. Under ideal conditions, it can still give an acceptable result, but mostly a wild mess due to optical problems. Even TTartisans on mirrorless systems show better results.

Pros
  • Sharpness if hit.
Cons
  • - autofocus misses; - there would still be a sane manual, but this is stupid engine control with delays, torment in one word; - in more difficult conditions, the picture simply crumbles from aberrations (contrasting scenes); - it is necessary to protect from arbitrary pressing on the "trunk". A hood or something else to avoid damage. On Aliexpress, even a gear repair kit is sold - apparently they break often.

Great kit lens for the money!

I haven't had a chance to use a flash yet, but the 50mm lens has been my standard since I started taking pictures. A few years ago I ran into financial difficulties and reluctantly sold my photography gear, camping gear and most of my library. A big mistake, but sometimes you have to do the right thing. I was happy to find this set, when I bought it the 50mm lens was sold out. I will update this review once I use the Speedlite.

Pros
  • 80mm effective focal length when connected to an APS-C camera, ideal for portraits and photos of fast-moving subjects such as children and pets.
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
