Not sharp enough for me

I have a Canon 35/2.0 prime lens that I really like, but it's not wide enough for my Canon XTi. So I bought this lens along with a Sigma 18-50/f2.8 EX Macro for the holidays, thinking the Sigma would be used for more flexibility and the 24mm lens for a very lightweight touring lens. although my 24/2.8 wasn't nearly as sharp as my 35/2.0. Maybe it's just my copy of the lens, I don't know. But the Sigma was just as sharp as the 24mm. So I returned 24mm and will be leaving Sigma. With a fixed zoom

After reading some bad reviews about Canon's 24mm and 28mm lenses, I settled on the Sigma 24mm 1.8 lens. After trying two copies and sending one to the Sigma, I could never get it to focus reliably and I…

Very happy with the lens

So far I have had excellent results with this lens on my 20D. I have a 50mm 1.8, a manual Nikon 100mm 2.8 with an EOS adapter and an older (non-IS) 18-55mm kit lens. The 24mm lens was the perfect addition to my setup, complementing my main lenses and replacing my kit lens. I've debated whether a 28mm lens would be a better deal (20-30% cheaper) but I think the wider angle, especially with a cropped sensor, was worth it. I just took 200 shots with my newborn nephew in the hospital in low indoor…
