What an amazing system!

I have been using the Canon T3i for several years and bought the EOS M to reduce the size and amount of gear I need for travel, cruising and road trips. I like my Lumix LX-5 but the sensor is too small. The EOS M's APS-C sensor is great, and I get great results when shooting in RAW, even at high ISOs (like ISO 6400). When I upgraded my T3i I bought a FotoDiox adapter to fit all my Canon lenses. It's great that they can pack so many cameras into such a small package. I bought the book EOS M from

Pretty impressive camera. Combined with the 22mm STM lens, indoor photography is a breeze. In relatively low light, I can shoot at 1/40 f/2.0 ISO1600 and don't have to do much image correction. Shooting at ISO1600 without hesitation is a blessing as the noise generated is only noticeable at full resolution. While 18-55mm can offer more versatility, you lose a lot of indoor shooting opportunities if you can't open the aperture anymore. I also want to commend the screen that comes with the…

OK, maybe great.

My EOS-M came with a firmware update already installed so I can't speak to issues with focus etc. and shoot with a camera. After seeing my dad's Nikon tip I was looking for one that had all the features I needed. Along the way, I also thought about upgrading my DSLR (Canon EOS Rebel T2i) for more advanced features. At some point I noticed the EOS-M. I've read reviews and it seems like there was a focus issue on early models and it seems to have come to light because Canon lowered the price…

Underrated and Misunderstood Camera

I've always wanted this camera. When the first interchangeable-lens mirrorless cameras hit the market, I jumped on the bandwagon with the Panasonic GF1. With the pancake lens, I got a camera that's great for parties: shallow depth of field, good low-light performance, and a compact size. The compact size was important because people were intimidated by my full-size DSLR; People are afraid to be frank next to a "professional" photographer. However, despite its size, the Panasonic had a fairly…

I like and dislike this camera. Pros: It takes really good pictures. The quality is similar to Rebel DSLRs like the t3/t4 etc. The touchscreen works very well, allows you to zoom in etc which is really nice when you're used to it on smartphones and tablets. The menu system is very similar, if not identical, to that of their DSLR cameras. So once you're used to it, you'll find it very easy to use this camera's menus. It's very light and combined with the 22mm lens you can get for this mount…

Compact alternative to DSLR for better image quality

I'm writing this review from the point of view of an enthusiast who wanted to switch from compact cameras (Canon G series for serious shooting and Canon ELPH for pocket convenience) to something with more matrix and the best lenses . I started my research totally convinced of the possibility of upgrading to a DSLR (preferably a 60D); However, I chose the EOS M for a number of reasons: 1) Most of my photos were taken while camping/hiking. I just couldn't get over having to lug around such a…
