I have my eyes on you

I bought this used at the Revain store for $30 to vlog on the go for a personal YouTube fitness channel I do and this thing didn't disappoint. I wanted something cheap in case I should drop it or some other mishap. Very easy to use and the picture quality is quite good for 720p. I recommend if you are on a budget but want something decent.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Great camera - more durable than the competition

I work under contract and buy about 20 cameras a year for my team. We have found that these cameras do not stand up to heavy and heavy use. Each film crew takes around 50-100 shots a day, every day. The camera lives in a dirty environment and although they try to take care of it, the camera is dropped, exposed to rain and usually abused every day. We've paid big bucks for 'more durable' cameras like the Fujifilm FinePix XP90, but the money was wasted. Elph 160 has proven itself from the best…

Ease of Use - Point and Shoot Digital Cameras

Bought this for my daughter while on a lighting package. We're just starting to use it once the battery is fully charged so I can't comment on how long-lasting it is, but with previous Canon cameras I doubt there will be any issues. We found images surprisingly sharp as long as you stay within the optical zoom range. The operation is easy enough for her as a new camera user that it took some time to master. A standard "mini USB" cable is used to connect to a computer, so we already had the…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

Not great for camera and photography

Makes good pictures. I struggle to focus it and end up missing/missing shots. The fact that you can't select a mode (e.g. sunset) also makes the camera a disadvantage. What makes this camera 2 stars is the flimsy and difficult to open battery/memory card door. It will break and break soon. Something that's fragile and cheaply constructed shouldn't be difficult to open and close either. There's no excuse for such a bad design trait (which seems to get worse with each PowerShot generation). Canon

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Doubtful

You may think I'm kidding, but I'm completely serious . We bought four of these cameras to attach to two of our space balloons to capture the moon's shadow on Earth during a solar eclipse. (Some heaters were required to allow them to operate at low temperatures.) These chambers rose to altitudes of up to 90,000 feet. We lost the GPS signal on the balloons and were only able to recover one. We received some spectacular images from these cameras and thought the second ball was lost. Weeks pass…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Bought for an elderly mother after her old camera died. Tried to find within $125-150. I had two other Canon compact cameras, so I expected satisfactory quality for the price. Pros: - Cost - 20 megapixels (brute force) - Good image quality - Large rear LCD screen (her main wish, like her old camera, was very small) - Compact - Features her other camera didn't have (detection faces, focus, simple buttons, video) Cons: - If you read other reviews, many complain about the lack of material in the…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

  • I vaguely remember

Great little entry-level camera

Just starting out in photography and want a camera with a good name and reputation? That's all. I've been a die-hard Canon fan for over 30 years. For a point and shoot pocket camera I prefer the SX series over the ELPH, but the ELPH series is great for those who are just starting out and don't want to mess with changing settings etc. I might be an exception to this list. Typically, I started with a DSLR when I was in high school and then switched to a pocket camera that was easy to carry…

Pros
  • Great all-round performance
