I should have looked better, spent money on an ordinary product.

It was bought along with a 450D camera as the first lens. Before that, there was a Zenith, but not everything can be removed from the M42, adapters are needed. In general, at a price almost free of charge, I bought a whale. Photos are mediocre. It focuses well on sharpness, almost does not miss. But still soap-soap. Each photo needs to be processed - increase the sharpness by default, then we look. And this is all when shooting at aperture 8-11, and even with exposure compensation in the minus.

    Pros
    • Price. Got it with a pic Lightweight, compact
    Cons
    • Soap Low aperture In sunny weather, decent aberrations

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

After reading negative reviews about the lens that comes with the camera, I decided to order a camera with another more expensive lens, I was disappointed, it shoots well (but only shooting in the distance, smeared it in poor lighting), I had to order a second THIS one, terribly satisfied with this lens (finally - I can shoot close up, it shoots well in a poorly lit place)! And I’m upset that I had to spend money on 2 lenses . but I could take it with it and get high)))

    Pros
    • Price, stabilizer, light weight
    Cons
    • did not find

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money, one of the best offers.

Annoy those who write that this lens + DSLR = money thrown away. This lens is a 3rd generation 18-55 kit and is the best for the money. Notoriety stretches for the first 2 generations. This lens is completely different! Not many people will distinguish between photos taken with this lens and, for example, 17-40L, which is 10 times more expensive! Do not be fooled by negative reviews from managers that provoke you to buy more expensive lenses. Canon1100 + 18-55 IS, 50 / 1.8 (or 1.4) + 55-250

    Pros
    • sharpness, stabilizer (it really works, it's even visible to the eye), price
    Cons
    • plastic, trunk, not radiating color reproduction, not the largest aperture

    Revainrating 1 out of 5

    Lousy product, low quality.

I always despised comrades who said that they say that it’s enough to try and understand. It's like parents buying rollers for children for 1000 with "square" wheels, like we like it, we'll buy normal ones. No need to choose between a whale and a carcass + lens. If this is the question for you, then choose between Carcass and an advanced soap dish. It (soapbox) and sell easier if you mature.

    Pros
    • protects from dust getting into the camera, through the bayonet, it rattles and crunches melodiously, it doesn’t get into focus very psychedelically, it’s not a pity to break / lose. Very successfully sets off better quality lenses.
    Cons
    • I don't know what could be worse than this device. Kit 400D was my first DSLR after zenith. Bought without looking at the reviews. And it was worth turning it over in your hands and taking a carcass instead of a whale. the surprise of such a terrible glass came in the first half hour of the trial.

I am satisfied with everything, the product corresponds to the description.

Briefly speaking. I was just lucky that I found it on the internet. It seems to me that stores are interested in selling expensive lenses, so I didn’t stumble upon it for 3 whole days of climbing on the Internet. Not even on the player-ru. So. Made up my mind. And immediately, until I paid at the cash desk, I started taking pictures. I took 2 pictures of my knees, moving to the darkest corner of the room, shielded with my hand as much as I could (probably they looked at me like I was .). One…

    Pros
    • I compared 2 lenses: my whale lens to the 350D and this one. - Slightly higher aperture. - A little less. - It seemed to me easier than a whale. - The stabilizer copes with the mega-asshole, about it in the comments. - Price! Price! Trawling, pum-pum-paaam.
    Cons
    • - The autofocus motor is a bit harsh in noise, the decibel is the same or slightly less. - Someone does not like that the lens travels with the lens; but me for this. - As I wrote, the aperture ratio is just a little higher, and since the whale one is dark, the subject turns out to be a little dark - well, that is, darkness remains.

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, good quality, not bad.

Bought along with canon 550d. At aperture 7.0 I get sharp and pleasant pictures. Compared with Tamron 17-50 2.8 . It's a pity to give him 15t. R. If only for the sake of a slightly larger angle, a cyanotic picture and a soapy 2.8 at all focal lengths . To buy a lens that is the best in all respects, you need to spend at least 15 Conclusion: An excellent lens for a person who has not yet realized what he needs from a photo, or is just saving up for a decent lens).

    Pros
    • Great lens for the money. Good stabilizer. Light. In sufficient light, it focuses quickly. Universal focal.
    Cons
    • For the money they are almost non-existent. Maybe only the focusing ring is uncomfortable, but I'm used to it. The colors are not as rich as in 50 1.8, but everything is corrected in the editor.

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

The right product for me, the price suited me.

The lens served faithfully for 5 years. During this time, absolutely nothing loosened or broke, but I handled it quite carefully and never dropped it. The main advantage of this lens is good sharpness in the range of 25-45 mm, especially at a covered aperture, complemented by a good stabilizer, which allows you to get excellent shots up to 1/18 second without raising the ISO to heaven. At the same time, at 17 mm there is a significant drop in sharpness at the edges of the frame at an open…

    Pros
    • - Good sharpness - Tenacious Stabilizer - Practically does not catch hares in the backlight (even without a hood) - Sufficiently reliable design, subject to careful handling - Low price - Light weight
    Cons
    • - Weak sharpness at the edges of the frame at 17 mm - Chromatic aberrations, especially at 17-28mm - Soffit 55 mm - Front lens rotates - Not a very pretty drawing - Unnatural colors - Complete lack of bokeh - slow focus - When focusing and zooming, the trunk moves along a complex path back and forth, so to completely fold it, you have to turn off autofocus and rotate the focus ring manually

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend the product for purchase.

Based on the price category (~ 3000-3500) and the class, this lens is very good, significantly better than any of the versions without a stabilizer. It will not fully reveal the matrix as a good fix, but it will provide quite acceptable sharpness, and the stabilizer will help with landscape (for example) shooting. The second modification of the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II is no different (minor external differences). If this is your first lens and first camera, or if you need an…

    Pros
    • 1. Affordable price. 2. Convenient focal lengths for standard zoom. 3. A good stabilizer - useful for handheld landscape photography. 4. Quite good sharpness for this class of lenses. 5. Acceptable design for this class of lenses.
    Cons
    • 1. Low aperture ratio (compared to aperture equivalents). And for landscapes in general, it would be better to clamp it at a wide angle to f / 5.6 - f / 8.0. 2. Not too fast focus compared to better lenses. 3. Noticeable chromatic aberration at wide angles. are corrected in the converter or in the camera (if it has such a function). 4. Front lens and filter rim rotate when focusing. 5. Low aperture makes it difficult to use bokeh in photography, except for macro scenes.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

Normal lens. Here they write that there is not enough sharpness or aperture . in fact, you just need to learn how to use these "flaws" and turn them into advantages of your photographs. Yes, of course, it is not suitable for professional photo shoots, but in order to unleash the potential of a novice photographer in artistic photography, it will be enough through the roof! People, don't waste your money on expensive glass, because a good photo is born not in your Canon, but in your head! Here…

    Pros
    • LIGHT! Versatile enough, not a pity to kill.
    Cons
    • What could be the disadvantages for three pennies? They are not here!

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

Went like whales to my Canon 450D, shot a lot on it and was generally very pleased. It's hard indoors - the aperture is small, the high ISO is grainy, and the flash is sometimes very undesirable. In principle, an inexpensive station wagon that shoots well both landscapes and portraits, with macro, of course, worse. I'm not a professional, but for the first experience of a DSLR, the lens is good (if a hobby doesn't take root, then it's not a pity for such a ridiculous amount). With good…

    Pros
    • Price, lightness, stabilizer, sharpness.
    Cons
    • Aperture

Well, what did you want from a lens for 3 thousand? But when compared with other, more expensive lenses, then 18-55 is not so bad, because lenses for 10 thousand, or even 20, have all these problems! an incomprehensible thing is a stabilizer, somehow it doesn’t really stabilize, of course there is some sense from it, but as I understand it only horizontally, it can’t cope with vertical shaking. If anyone is interested, the autofocus for video is noisy, the fr ring is quiet, in the video is…

    Pros
    • -Compact-Lightweight-Good assembly-Stabilizer-Cheap
    Cons
    • -Everything is plastic, including the bayonet mount -Relatively fragile -Soaps -There are both XA and distortion

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best I have ever used, great product for anyone!

The lens was received as a whale lens, it serves me faithfully, now of course I have 50 1,8II as a staff member, I had 70-300 isus, but this one does not lose ground. compared to 70-300 does not turn yellow. compared to 50 1.8 - there are very few blurry frames, although he draws frames somehow flat, at the level of a soap dish, but still this is not a soap lens. I would not advise selling the cost of a used 3000. It also makes no sense to take a new one, only as a whale to see your prospects…

    Pros
    • Persistence, stabilizer, lightweight, comfortable, and much more can be called from simple pluses.
    Cons
    • Dark, of course, but this is not a fast lens, and so that it was not a pity. It was hard for me to find the hood .

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

I can't say that I was completely satisfied with the product.

For not confused amateurs and people who just bought a SLR camera to be, this lens is ideal. For something a little more serious, it is absolutely not suitable. I use canon eos600d + 18-55is and helios 77m-4, since at least the top-end canon ex-600rt is puffy (I decided not to waste time on trifles and did not regret it). Shooting weddings and any events turns into hell with this set, Helios helps out on photosets. In terms of focal lengths, of course, it more or less covers the needs for lack…

    Pros
    • A good stabilizer for the cheapest lens in the line. Convenient focal lengths for crop. Not enough HA for such a poor lens.
    Cons
    • plastic lenses. Complete lack of image quality. Auto-focus is very noisy, very inaccurate and slow. The sharpness of the picture is at the level of inexpensive soap dishes, even smartphone cameras are not far behind in sharpness.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

Compared to the NOT IS version, it has become lighter! The front lens has been enlarged, while the size of the filter ring has not changed. Added stabilizer. As a result, it is sharper than usual, lighter and better assembled. As a staffer, I like focusing stability and speed for its price. For yourself, nothing more suitable in the price range up to 18t. R. not found. Although for portraits and landscapes I use branded fixes. This one is good for quick reportage photo shoots, hiking and…

    Pros
    • - Cheap - Made better than the version without IS - Enough light - Sharp at medium focal lengths and f/4.5-8 - Light - Stabilizer - Quiet, and not bad in terms of focusing speed
    Cons
    • - Front lens rotates when focusing - 18mm barrel - Aberrations at wide angle and open aperture - Sharpness at wide angle and open aperture is average

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unsatisfactory quality, I wont buy it anymore.

I came across this lens complete with 60d I started shooting and was at a loss: why is soap almost everywhere? (3 out of 10 and sharp) I even thought that fotik MARRIAGE, it turned out not. I bought myself a 50mm f.1.4 I was terribly happy _ the pictures are clear and sharp, now 8-9 out of 10. The aperture is amazing and there is no soap. FROM My advice : If you are a beginner, take the kit will be cheaper. And so a solid deuce .

    Pros
    • I will describe everything objectively. Among the advantages I can note: fast focus price the weight assembly materials
    Cons
    • . of the shortcomings: They are not allowed to shoot SOAP indoors Weak aperture ratio (comparing in my 50mm f.1.4) Pictures are dark Soap soap and more soap

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied with the product, I recommend it to everyone.

I took bodysuits for all cameras (having also read the opinions of "advanced" users) and was afraid to take this lens, but on occasion I managed to buy it new for nothing and I was amazed at the quality for "that kind of money" ! On the machine, of course, everything is "dim", but with manual settings it's quite a worthy copy . And I shot it in the water (not a pity) and splashes fell, everything is ok, it also continues to work well . My rating is 5 (price / quality / for the relevant…

    Pros
    • Versatility, stabilizer, quite clear with manual settings, not a vacuum cleaner, price
    Cons
    • for such a price, it seems ridiculous to me to look for flaws, of course they are for an experienced look, but the lens is positioned as a Kit addition to the set, and therefore it’s the best for a novice photographer !

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

You can't expect a masterpiece from this lens. It fully justifies its cost. A penny price, respectively, and the photos are not up to par. Often misses focus. With good lighting and properly selected settings, good photos are obtained, but no more. It does not reveal all the possibilities of the carcass, so its use is money thrown away for the carcass. With a limited budget, it is better to take a good digital compact. A few days after buying a camera with this lens, you start rummaging through

    Pros
    • Price, stabilizer, wide angle.
    Cons
    • Insufficient sharpness when shooting distant objects. Often misses focus. Focusing ring play.

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are several shortcomings, but, it corresponds to the norm.

Was purchased with a camera. I didn’t shoot them often, because I have better optics. But I can say that the glass works out its money, its sharpness is quite normal, there were no serious problems with focusing, but there are mistakes. Now I use it only for shooting landscapes at a wide angle, and then rarely. They don't need to shoot people at all. Portraits are very mediocre. The lenses appear to be plastic. The overall structure is weak. I would not recommend this lens to beginners, the…

    Pros
    • Cheap, easy, do not feel sorry for him. Stabilizer.
    Cons
    • For the money it costs, it's silly to talk about serious shortcomings. Of course, the stub works conditionally (it's not L for 4 stops). Dark, 3.5 at a wide angle is dark, not suitable for indoors at all (only with a flash). The barrel (each copy has its own) at a wide angle, but this is a specificity, not a drawback. Sad (slow) focusing, there are mistakes. The front lens rotates, the use of circular polarizers is questionable, but sometimes you can . The design is mediocre. A terrible semblance of bokeh sometimes turns out, it would be better if it didn’t exist at all. Cheap plastic body. I repeat, the shortcomings for such money are conditional.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, I rate this purchase excellent.

Actually, if you are a beginner, then feel free to buy a whale - the difference between a whale and a bodysuit in 2022 will give you a very valuable opportunity to feel: 1. what you need from a future lens 2. what are the shortcomings in lenses (objectively, it contains all the possible shortcomings) 3. What are the advantages of lenses (there are many models on sale that do not give such sharpness at all as a whale gives at certain ranges) Now more about the disadvantages. in some ranges

    Pros
    • Stabilizer Price
    Cons
    • very heterogeneous behavior on different bands

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I definitely recommend buying, I didn't notice any disadvantages.

I recently bought my first DSLR. Everyone says that this whale is definitely bad. I took some pictures of them and realized that the sharpness is not enough. I want more zooming, at least 7x, otherwise there is no point in 3x. When watching the video, it seemed that the quality was not very good, although they did not watch it on an HD monitor, but on an old one. In general, in pictures 10-15 everything looks great and sharp. For the first time, it will do fine to shoot. This is the opinion of…

    Pros
    • Normal sharpness, no ringing of course Looks solid, like the camera itself Stabilizer seems to work Manual focus
    Cons
    • Sharpness is not very good when zooming in Zoom 3 - little, very little When shooting HD video, somehow it’s not right, somehow it’s not HD
