The paper in these albums is wonderful. I have already bought different sizes as well as her black sketchbook. I'm not much of an artist, but I can attest that paper works well with charcoal, pencil, ballpoint, and Prismacolor crayons. Compared to previous sketchbooks I've used in the past, the paper is thicker and not as smooth and waxy, allowing for more layering and blending. Canson mixed media paper works great for crayons, colored pencils, markers and charcoal. I haven't tried acrylic or watercolor so I can't comment on how well they work. However, be careful with marker show-through, especially when using markers. Just remember to put a sheet of paper under the page you're drawing on so the markers don't spill over onto the next sheet. I could even run sheets through my large format inkjet printer.
