I used these sealing caps when replacing actively cooled (fan) LED low beam headlights because the bulb assembly is large and protrudes from the headlamp assembly preventing the original headlamp end caps from being installed. Simply slide it into the headlight assembly until the correct rubber rim snaps into place. Basically, until the rubber boot goes on. Make sure there are no wires in the headlight assembly; only the back of the lamp body emerges from the central hole.

Sounds like a great idea but my car's headlight housing is too small to fit properly. I read a review that said it would fit in the same car as my own, although the 2014-2015 Kia Soul comes with two headlight housing options so that might be a difference. I think I could get it to work, but it definitely felt like it was popping out or restricting the LED heatsink airflow too much. I returned it but still give it 4 stars as universal installation for something like this is almost impossible.

I just bought this dust cover. It fits my 2015 Silverado well and is easy to install. J603-860-0354. Simply unplug the light, slide it over the light and push it fully against the light body so it doesn't get caught in the slots that attach it to the headlight body. It's flexible enough to be folded so you can see how to put the light back into the headlight housing. It seems to cover the case well. This setup was for a 2016 Kia Soul+. The headlights come with dust caps to keep out dust and moisture. I would NOT run the LEDs without letting them vent properly. You will get very hot. And I highly recommend not leaving the headlight open without a dust cap. You're not just there. So I found them and tried them. With a little fiddling with the universal dust cover, I was able to install it around the radiator and in the headlight assembly. This is not a 100% seal due to the heatsink design…

.very nice. You have to keep in mind that it's a dust and moisture seal, but probably not 100%. I say that due to the tight fit of the headlight cover with the o-ring it is not that tight and secure. But that is far from true. It's better to cry than take off the factory cap and leave the reflector cavity fully open to the atmosphere. So all in all a good decision.
