Caran D'Ache Neo-Pastel is one of the top 3 oil pastel brands on the market. Yes, their price says something about the quality, but they are worth it. These oil pastels are harder than Senneliers which are similar to lipstick but a bit softer than Holbein in my opinion. I have all three brands and use them for the hardening layering. It's much easier to apply softer to harder. In addition, neopastel white is known as opaque white. This beautiful set is PERFECTION.

Neopastel is pigmented and easy to apply and blend. They apply easily but aren't creamy enough so you'll have to start with lighter colors first. Don't rub the paper and don't stick it together. Layers: They aren't as soft and creamy as Sennelier pastels or Mungyo Artist Gallery Extra Soft Oil pastels, so lighter colors won't show if you layer a darker color on top.
