I had to install an air filter in a custom sized cold air return that is visible in our hallway. Most filters have preset sizes that don't fit and are white. Other cut filters I found were oddly colored, which was annoying as well. This basic black filter material is great. After installation, it was almost invisible. There is enough material so that I can cut replacement filters several times with one order. Good business.

The best thing about these filters is that they don't block or restrict airflow. You can still feel the air flowing through the registers just as strongly as before. The ones I've bought in the past have reduced airflow which puts a strain on the AC system. I cut and attached a filter to each of the A/C registers where the air is blown out. Good quality product for many uses. I use heat pump pre-filters in my allergy free air purifiers as a replacement when I run out of my expensive filters, also works well in conjunction with your standard metal oven/stovetop filters, cut to size and attaches to existing filters on the outside/ Bottom of existing filter but ensure it is securely fastened or it could be pulled into the duct if you don't. Bought for $11 a year ago. Now it's $16. Considering this is a Covid related item the price increase seems reasonable. I used it as a pre-filter for an IQ air machine which also has a pre-filter that costs about 5 times this filter. This filter extends the life of the IQ filter. Now I trim the third and last filter I was able to cut off the roll. Every time I've changed it, the piece I took out of the car was almost completely covered in very fine dust. My heating/cooling system doesn't have enough room for filters to add anything. I placed it OUTSIDE the intakes on top of my oven, facing the wash/dirt chamber to trap outside odors and large dust particles clogging my overpriced fine filters. Every week I take it out to my patio and put it in direct sunlight for a couple of hours to revitalize the filter and finish with a brush and lint roller.
