Eliminates my problems: Fuel system

2005 Trx 400 ex no longer works. The replaced carburetor worked like a charm. Starts immediately and stays idle. While pro advice will simply spend more and replace the throttle cable while you're at it, it's only helping you in the end.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Some little things

Direct replacement for 2007 TRX400ex

My factory carburetor was pretty uncomfortable after sitting all summer. Twisted, gas cable misaligned, everything is fine. We ride almost every day at this time of year.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Low repairability

Works great, fuel line clamps are good value. Would buy again.

Works right out of the box, only a small gas adjustment required. The clamps on the fuel lines are quite cheap, I replaced them with factory clamps. Otherwise it works great. Great value, almost as cheap as buying a recovery kit but saves you tons of time!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Electrical outlet required

Buyer warning! - Parts

At first the product seemed decent. Swapping out the injectors for my stock carburetor was easy and it fits the 400ex perfectly. However, after installing the gas tank, I found that the fuel feed line on this carburetor is much larger than on the stock carburetor and fuel cutoff sensor. Proper assembly is now impossible, fuel line clamps will fit the OEM line but not this carb, and there simply isn't enough room to assemble the transmission assembly or fit a cheap fuel filter. Just buy a kit to

two small installation problems.

#1 To install the throttle cable you must loosen the 2 screws that hold the throttle cable cover in place. The lousy phillips head screws started to loosen before they could be unscrewed and had to use a vise to unscrew them was also difficult because of a small frying pan shaped screw head behind them. I was able to use factory screws from an old carb that were brass for the installation. #2: The tank nipple on the new carburetor was bigger than the original, the old fuel line didn't fit and…

Straight bolt carburettor

Recently bought a Honda 06 400ex. It only idles. As soon as you turn it off, it turns itself off. Researched and everyone said clean the carburetor. Well, for the price of rebuilding and cleaning a carburetor, you can just buy a new one. This carb was a straight fit. The negative reviews I've seen about the throttle screws didn't raise any questions in my mind. I used a drill and everything was fine. Fuel as I removed from the old carburetor, carefully removed and fitted a new one with no…

Complete set of carburetors.

It is what it is, a cheap carburetor, but you have to know what you're doing to handle it. Don't get me wrong, my 400EX is working great now, but I had to take it apart and put it back together properly. First, none of the injectors are marked with a number. So replace your original injectors or replace them with what you need. The main jet depth adjustment nut was above the plastic splash guard (to hold it?) for some reason. Then at the top where the bypass vent hose attaches to the top plate,
