Bad sealant! Buyer warning!

Gasket is rubbish! After a few hours the new seal deformed and started leaking gas leaving us on the water! The photo shows both a new (deformed) seal and an old seal that has been used for a year. Definitely not a quality product, save yourself some money and hassle and buy elsewhere!

Pros
  • Stylish design
Cons
  • Discontinued

Everything should be identical. Replacement

All parts except the large gas inlet seat (port) are replaceable. The threads on the carburetor did not match. I bought the kit because the old needle valve got stuck in the bottom carburetor. I went ahead and replaced the needle valve hoping that would fix the problem. Just disappointed that the themes don't match.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons

Poor quality/wrong size brass float valve seat

I bought this to rebuild both carburetors on a 1988 40hp Evinrude outboard. I disassembled both carburetors, cleaned everything and started reassembling. I was disappointed to find that the brass float valve seats did not screw into the carburetor. Also, the float alignment doesn't work with my carbs. I assembled the carburetors from old - now clean - parts. I will be returning these sets.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Not sure

Brass seat threads too tight

Received and installed today. My engine ran, but the threads on the brass seats were not properly finished. They turned out to be the right threads per inch, but not deep enough in the "v". They locked in and started squeaking at the first stream. I didn't want to force them and mess up the threads on two expensive carburetor bodies. Had to reuse old seats with new needles. The rest worked as expected. Having bought the float, needle and seat kits I was very disappointed.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Good

Float Seat Wrong Thread Size

the main part I need doesn't work with my carburetors. I used the OEM part number to search for this kit and was happy to find what I thought was a good deal, only to find out after removing and disassembling the carburetors. I figured these seats wouldn't work, they were the wrong thread size and wouldn't screw into the carb body, so I paid $30 for two complete sets that I could only use three of each. hopefully my original seats are fine and i can boot again and not get stuck in the water.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
