Description of Cardone 66 5235 New CV Axle

Proprietary engineering processes ensure that all CV Drive Axles meet OE form, fit and function. Neoprene boots are designed with additional bellows, when needed, to resist bellow stress and cracking, which is the leading cause of boot failure. An axle retaining nut is supplied with every unit for a hassle-free installation, due to the likelihood that the original retaining nut is worn or stripped. CV Drive Axle measurements are validated after assembly to ensure a proper fit; Threads are precision rolled to ensure proper fit when axle nut is installed. Boot clamps are pneumatically crimped, creating a perfect seal between the boot and housing.

Worse CV Axel! DO NOT BUY!

The 1st stem was defective and damaged so I sent it back to Revain and another one was sent and it arrived in worse condition than the 1st stem. These were brand new orders and BOTH DEFECTIVE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! August 15, 2020

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

NOT OFF ROAD

I bought 2 axles, both broke in the same place 3 weeks apart. They are not designed for off-road use at all. ON DESIGNATED ROADS ONLY! Twice he left me in the middle of the forest. The axle shafts are welded together and not solid parts, saving manufacturers money. Welds have air pockets, making them weak points. AMAZON, please note in the description that this is not intended for off-road use at all!

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • High price

Not a new piece! Suitable for CV (constant speed)

When the item arrived, I immediately noticed that the box had been opened and resealed for shipping. When I opened it up, I found that the part was not only slightly damaged, but had been installed previously. I ordered a NEW part, NOT used. At this point in the repair I had no choice but to put it in my car and hit the road again. Fortunately, the part works as it should. Very disappointed that I ordered a new part and received a damaged part, most likely because the last person who had it…

Replacement C/V for Tacoma

My CV's are still good but I bought this as a spare. You'll hear people saying it's good or good or that you should always buy an OEM Toyota CV etc. If it's a full Tacoma then it's perfect if you have a modified or raised Tacoma CV, if you drive anyway. I chose this one for two reasons: first, other Tacoma owners have had very good experiences with this one, and second, it has notches on the end to help put it back in place. Other resumes I've seen are slick and I have no idea how to do that…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Slightly dented

UPDATE: 2 years/20,000 miles later, good product but case fell off

Used on 08 4runner SR5 V6 4x4. The fit was identical to the OEM. The trucks feel solid, as do the boots. I swapped both at the same time. Perform PITA so the axle fits completely into the front differential. Make sure you have a good pry bar to pull out the old ones. ****UPDATE**** It's been about 2 years / 20,000 miles since I originally installed these axles. The axle on the driver's side is fine, but the inner boot on the axle on the passenger's side has come loose. The axles don't make any…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great replacement CV for my Tacoma 05+

My original factory CV axles still worked great but my CV outer boots were 7 years old and were starting to crack on both CVs. The cost of buying all new Cardone axles was cheaper than buying CV boots for my OEM CVs so I bought 2 of these. Not only is this a cheaper option, but it also saves time and effort on the boot replacement project. I was concerned these aftermarket CVs wouldn't perform like my OEMs for 7 years, but so far I'm impressed. I've been on 4 very difficult 4x4 tracks since…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Buy used Toyota Steel instead of this junk

They fit my 2004 4Runner Limited easily. I replaced the OEM Toyota CV with these because the original boots looked a bit worn after a lift and 140,000 miles. BIG MISTAKE! They don't have the articulation that OEM axles have. The originals didn't bind at full play, but these did. I had to install the diff drop kit which still didn't work. I had to replace the dust bags on the original CV axles. These boots just didn't survive 10,000 miles ON THE ROAD because I just didn't trust Cardone's resume.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
