First time I've had these and a belt didn't fully retract; No big deal, I could always snap the strap back in place to keep it from dangling on the floor. Two months later the other side is doing the same and the ratchet is not fully tightening. I believe the brace that engages the ratchet teeth is deformed and no longer engages. I had a set of these lines on my old boat which was a 17ft bass boat. I have upgraded to a newer boat of about the same size and was very happy with these mounts so I ordered another pair for the new boat.
