Bought and returned to the boys XL - my son swam in it. Got him big and he's still too big in body. A medium size would be risky as the sleeves are quite short. Strange. Maybe it's just not the jacket for him, but I keep it as a work jacket anyway.

This jacket is amazing. It's still a bit stiff but needs wearing to break it. Very warm, very thick. I read the reviews and they were very helpful in determining the size.

I bought it for my son because his old coat was too small. Found this coat at a reasonable price. He likes this coat very much. Sure, it's a little big for him right now because he's only 10, but this coat might see him through high school. Will definitely buy this again

My son wanted a black Carhartt to match me and his dad, he couldn't be happier. I bought it a few sizes bigger so he could wear it for a few years.

My son complains that his face hurts when he wears his coat in the car because when he sits he is so bulky that he climbs on it and the zipper scratches his chin and cheeks. The stuff is so hard. This is a 3 year old big boy and I bought him some extra to use all winter. If you have dogs or cats you may not need this as this fabric does not attract hair well.

This jacket is perfect for my son who is 4ft tall and around 40lbs. it's a bit big but that's great because it can grow into it and probably live with it for two winters! Very happy with this purchase

The durability of this jacket is impressive. I have to do something with the zipper. It's very tight. My son is 4 years old, he will need it for easy slipping on as he zips himself.

I bought the medium for my 9 year old son and it turned out to be quite large for him. He usually wears a medium size so I thought it would fit perfectly but it fits a plus size. But he likes it so I didn't send it back and he can use it next winter.

Just bought the third coat of this type in 3 years. My grandchildren love these jackets as much as dad's and my mum loves them too - they are very warm and look brand new even after 2 years of socks. The boys are now 3 and 4 years old. 3 year old (medium sized) outgrew the 3T this year and switched to the 4T. A 4 year old (medium sized but tall) can still fit (barely) in a 4T. Moving on to little boy sizes, we discussed which size to go for. 4/5 (I think it was very deep) just sounded too small
