Sandy Garbage for Aquarium Waste

This substrate is a waste of money. Pet Supplies should be ashamed to promote such a low-quality product. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I can confirm that this substrate is too light and doesn't provide enough support for plants. Additionally, my aquarium filter is often clogged due to the constant cloudiness created by this sand. The only pro I can think of is that it did not harm any of my fish. Stay away from this cheap trash!

Pros
  • Creates a natural-looking environment for marine life with its white sand color.
Cons
  • Not suitable for freshwater aquariums due to its high pH level.

Great Product - Fish and Water

I prefer the Special Grade size. I tried a smaller grain and it spilled all over the tank. For the most part it will stay at the bottom of the tank unless your powerheads are generating too much current. The delivery was a bit slow.

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • Something Different

This is an excellent grit for the most common reef type.

Caribsea is the leader in marine aquarium substrates. This is an excellent grit for most common reef aquariums; when you need a thinner 1 inch sand bed that doesn't have grains that get blown around by high currents (like oolite or sugar sands). Undemanding in care. In an established aquarium it cleans up quickly (unlike granulated sugar in 2-3 days) and corals, fish and inversions have no problem with it. The only downside is that it cannot be used to denitrify deep sandy soils. too…

Pros
  • Fish & Aquatic Pets
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff
