Very fragile

The die itself is actually of excellent quality and has rounded the corners nicely on some of the laminated cards I've made. The big problem was that after only 5 or 6 uses, two parts fell apart. I wasn't too aggressive. I just squeezed the plunger firmly with my palm. Since shipping and handling would cost the same if not more than the original stamp, instead of sending it back I used a very strong two part epoxy and clamped it for 24 hours to fix it. hope it lasts Not recommended for…

Just What I Needed

I needed this unit when making stereo cards: 3 1/2" x 7" cards with a left and right pair of stereo photos printed on them. I figured they would look a little better with rounded corners, so I started looking for a hole punch that could handle a fairly heavy photo editing board. Most hole punches I've found only seem stiff enough for plain or heavy paper. The CARL CPA6 is quite a powerful puncher and although it takes a lot of effort to pierce the thick cardboard I use, it works very well so I…

Not quite 5 stars from me

Pros: Beautiful, compact and easy to use. I use it again and again and it feels comfortable in my hands. Works very well with paper or cards. Cons: While it works like a charm on paper, it doesn't work very well with photos. It cannot cut through the plastic substrate without leaving the edges frayed.
