12 volt cigarette lighter with built-in switch. Also has a built in fuse.

I used this device to connect the GPS to my motorcycle. The GPS was supposed to be wired, but I wanted the flexibility to move the GPS from one bike to another. It worked well. The only thing that confuses me is that the guard wire used in this adapter is a bit lighter. Let's say 20 gauge. It's not a very thick wire. I would prefer at least 16 gauge. Hope that helps.

A bit disappointed

Plugs and switches are decent - cable gauge is very small and only suitable for low power devices. I bought this plug thinking I could power my (100w) halogen emergency light but the wire size is too small for this type of load. The description led me to believe it would work for this app, but unfortunately it didn't. However, some may find this perfect for their needs. However, do not expect the device to operate under heavy loads.

Mine needed a weaker tip spring

I also had connection problems. I found that the center pin spring was too strong for the spring lugs that hold it in the socket. After I released her, she bounced back just enough to break/form a weak connection. Luckily I had a box of other 12v plugs and found a weaker spring (or I wanted to cut the spring and stretch it a bit). After swapping out the spring for a weaker one, it was able to maintain the connection without overcoming the friction holding the fork. After this repair it seems to
