Amazing Pest Control Flys

This is my third time buying this product. My horse had a leg ulcer in the summer. She has a severe fly allergy. They are well made and very strong. After cleaning and treating the wound on my leg, I covered myself with these boots. They lasted for months. The only reason I had to repurchase these boots was because of my dog. He liked to chew on the bandages that were removed. He would grab shoes and hide them or try to chew them. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a horse that…

Good protection but could be more durable and better design

I bought two pairs of these boots to prevent my horse from stepping on flies and injuring his paws. I loved it at first, but then one of the seams ripped and the mesh started fraying in the second week. In the design, the bottom sticky Velcro should be pushed further back. If you try to get a snug fit, the velcro tab will overlap and not stick to the bottom of the velcro. They slide down to protect the hairline above the hoof, which is fine. That being said, they can be longer for a few inches…

Loss of customer loyalty

I have been using Cashel fly masks and boots for at least 7 years. Bought my gelding a new set (2 pairs) of flight boots in July 2019 after his first pair had lasted 4 years and the second pair around 1.5 years (which was a bit disappointing after the first pair). Bought in July 2019, this pair was already bursting at the seams in mid-August. To me, that's proof that their quality has gone down completely. Spent $70 to wear them for less than a month as he didn't even wear them every day or…

Poor fit and tears easily

I love Cashel's fly masks and was very disappointed in these boots. After a month of use (my horse goes out by himself) 3 out of 4 boots fall completely apart (see photo). There are huge tears in several seams of the boots, especially where the Velcro attaches. This photo was taken after she had worn them for about ten minutes - they slumped almost immediately after putting them on - I am horse size and she is a 16.1hh purebred with medium sized legs and they are huge which doesn't help the…

Pros
  • Robust workmanship
Cons
  • The list would be long.

Saved my gelding from flies!

Bought a pair last summer for a gelding with sensitive skin. Flies attack him all summer long, and his legs are covered with scabs. I washed them in the washing machine about every two weeks. This is my second summer of using them and they have worn off a bit but I expect they will hold up this summer as well. No problems with discomfort or chafing on my horse's legs. He wears them every day and takes them off at night. He is a 16 hour color and I bought a horse size for him. He sits on it well
