unfortunately not for my cat

I have a very strange cat that eats tape and cardboard and licks glue. I thought it was thicker plastic but it's actually more like duct tape so I didn't even try. I knew she would chew it up and then eat it whole, using my chair as a scratching post. I actually ended up pinning some old washcloths to the chair and it finally stopped scratching it. So if any of you have a cat like me, give the fabric a try and maybe they'll leave your chair alone! I gave it 4 stars because it's not your fault…

Safety concerns - good for smooth surfaces

That's a great idea but my kitty chewed on the buttons and managed to pull out two of them. I had screwed it on and pressed firmly and he was still able to pull it out. They are small enough to be easily swallowed, and a bent needle would damage its interior. If my sofa had a smoother surface they would probably stick to it without nails, but the texture means that now that I've removed the nails they will probably peel off in a day. They probably work well on nail-free skin, sticking to it and

perfect for bed frame

We have an adjustable bed frame that is approximately 15cm high and covered in fabric. And our kitty decided that the rounded corners make the perfect scratching posts. I bought 5 packs of protectors. They are great for cutting lengthwise into 17" long 6" strips and wrapping them around the bed frame. I even had to pull and adjust one again and it's still holding up well. I haven't tried Pina yet. I figured I'd wait and see if the kitten decides to leave them alone because I'm afraid the…

I recommend it for beds and furniture

My cat ripped the arms of my old sofa. I just recently bought this sofa and after spending over $800 on a nice queen size sofa (for guests) I cringe every time it attacks it. I needed it to stop. I bought these based on the reviews. And I'm very happy with them. 5 large sheets were perfect for covering all corners of my sofa, plus another for something different/backup. Since I put them on, my cat has stopped attacking my couch. The glue is actually pretty strong. I included pins as an extra…

Works with leather and upholstery!

Looks much prettier and cleaner than foil or blankets to cover my furniture! I was looking for a product that would work on real leather (see picture). I removed the product and applied it to my skin with no problem. The product clings best to flat sofa surfaces but works on a curved armrest with a slight ripple effect. I wiped down the sofa with a leather cleaner and let it dry before applying this product. I wanted to make sure there was no dirt getting in the way of a proper grip. The…

A must for cat owners

Product works as advertised! Yes, guards might not be as glamorous when attached to your furniture, but the purpose of this product is to deter your cat(s) from ripping your furniture apart. Based on my experience I would say the product does just that! Once you notice that your cat(s) has developed an association of not scratching the furniture areas where the product has been applied, you can experiment by removing the protective sheet(s) to see if the cat(s) n) there was such a reaction…

Great purchase - determined cat COULD NOT take them off.

Although our cats have lots of scratches, for some reason they LOVE the fabric of our new sofa and started scratching it instead. After realizing they were on the couch, our worst offender refused to itch and sprain/scratch as many times as he used to. From time to time he tried to bite off the protectors in the corners, but he had no luck. HOWEVER, one of our other cats was either completely disowned or angry and struggled to scratch her right off the couch. As you can see in the attached…

Trains your cat where not to scratch!

This product has worked great on my leather sofa and upholstery. My cat has lost interest in shredding her favorite upholstered chair and has successfully started using the scratching post she used to ignore. It really took furniture savers to get her to use the scratching post. I first bought a smaller pack of 5 protectors and found I needed more protection as I have 3 pieces of furniture. I have now covered all surfaces and even removed the protector from the leather sofa as the cat doesn't…

Better than alternatives

We surfed the internet for hours. We spoke to vets. We bought the best scratching posts and pads made from different materials and placed them all over the house. We even added some catnip to them. But of course the cat prefers to stick its claws into all our brand new furniture in every possible way. This is where these things come into play. They make it almost impossible to scratch the sofa and chairs, and so far they've kept our cute little infernal demon from doing further damage to the…
