The book gives very good tips for drawing fur and eyes. There are six fold-out traceable cat portraits. I learned a lot from step by step tutorials. It's not "see what I can do" but "here's how to do it".

I'm not tired of using acrylic paints yet, but if I do, this book will be used a lot. My husband and I love cats and I hope to be able to use the book to draw our two cats. There never seems to be enough time to do everything I want to do. Now I like to use a book to study drawings and I can try them with watercolors.

This is an excellent study guide. I wanted to learn to draw cats and initially thought of watercolor painting. But I found this book and decided to give it a try. The instructions are easy to understand, which is a big plus for me. I bought other textbooks and had trouble following the directions. I love this book and highly recommend it. This is one of the best drawing books if you are trying to draw cats. Don't let the name fool you - it adapts to all media forms. Tracing paper is good for an intermediate beginner, and as you get more confident you can probably make your own drawings. I love, love, love this book. You can trace on the canvas with your attached drawings. Your drawings are 11x14. I take a sheet of parchment paper and glue charcoal to the back. Then place the parchment on the canvas and place her drawing on it. Now simply circle your drawing with a blunt, pointed object and it will transfer well without ruining your drawing.
