Great gadget really saves time

I don't cook jalapeno peppers often, but when I do (like at a Super Bowl party recently) the part I've always hated is removing the core the jalapeno pepper. It took forever for my paring knife. The paring knife worked well but just a pain. So I got it and it makes it really easy and quite a lot of fun. No problem - large peppers, small peppers - everything can be easily and quickly removed from the core. I used my paring knife to reach inside and clean the ends, but nothing special. That was…

Cheap junk is best in corers

It worked *well* for the first four or so times; not really better than just using a knife but thought maybe I could learn how to use it. Then, maybe the 5th time I tried to use this tool (on a pepper), I jabbed it into the pepper and it bent! It was supposed to be strong, like a knife or something you can stick in a pepper, but instead they used cheap metal that will bend with the slightest pressure. Now the whole thing is almost useless (it just bends and messes up pepper I put in). save your

This jalapeno pepper corer is not very useful

First, the diameter of the spiral tooth blade is too large. I used pliers to squeeze it less. The teeth were still not very effective. Maybe it was a bit healthier with little jalepeños. But in general, this tool needs the help of a paring knife. Once the paring knife is used after this tool, the peppers can be cored effectively. I found this remedy ineffective. I've bought paring knives that are better suited for this purpose. Ever since I got this coring tool, I've been using it as a prop for

Tool a bit too big

Good quality jalapeno pepper remover. And it works pretty well for larger peppers, but I found it too wide - almost 3/4 inch in diameter to core smaller jalapenos. Being almost as wide as the peppers themselves, it tended to separate the sides of the smaller peppers. . The tip could also be sharper as I found that in order to use the tool with any effect I had to first cut off the tops of all the peppers with a knife and then go back and use the core. It would be nice if the tool was sharp…
