🔥 CenDyne CDICD00087 16x10x40 IDE CD-RW: Efficient Performance and Versatile Functionality Review

I bought a 16x10x40x (actually 16x12x40x) to replace a CD drive. Installation was easier than I expected. Unfortunately, the device now comes with NTI software, which is somewhat limited and not as good as Nero. It's still [amount] to get the professional version of the software.

Do not buy this item. I received it and tried to install it following their instructions. My computer didn't recognize it. Then I tried using it as a replacement for my current CD-ROM drive and it messed up my computer badly. After figuring it out, I tried again and found that the drive wouldn't turn on, even though I was using a power cord that I knew worked. Sent back as defective.

I've had my 16x12x40x (yes, 12x, not 10x) unit for a few days now and it's working fine so far. Burned 3 of 3 good CDs. The average burn time for a 700MB CD is about 5 minutes or less. Note, however, that the device no longer comes with Nero software, as stated in the previous two reviews. Instead, it comes bundled with NTI software (which is very easy to use and looks pretty minimalistic). Maybe a little disappointing as I've read positive reviews about Nero. .

I bought one of these in March. He stopped working in mid-July. Since then I have tried unsuccessfully to get technical support and a warranty replacement. When I call tech support (long distance, you pay) I'm put through for 10-20 minutes and then just sent to voicemail. When they call back it's the next day I'm gone.
