Perfect size for outdoor work

If you use a brass nozzle on your garden hose, you know that sometimes it gets stuck and won't turn on or off (depending). fits into work clothes and is easily accessible when needed. The grip area is enough to detach the nozzle. The Channellock brand is of high quality; I look forward to years of use.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Classic high quality channel lock pliers

If you're a fan of the old fashioned channel lock pliers these won't disappoint. Well designed, well built. While many tool manufacturers are making their products cheaper, Channel Lock continues to produce the same quality tools as they have for decades. The handling is accurate and well done. V-handle jaws are great for tube fittings. I would buy them again without hesitation.

Pros
  • delivery was very quick

I expected better quality

There are very sharp edges around the jaws - sharp enough to cut yourself. There are a few pits and imperfections in the metal that shouldn't affect performance, but they shouldn't be there. The jaws are quite flexible - the hinge could be made a little tighter. It's also quite difficult to switch between different label settings - it always gets stuck between labels for me. If this is normal, I would not recommend this tool to anyone.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Some little things

brand name tool. the best among pliers

Channellock is a tool from a well-known brand. You can buy cheap and be disappointed, or you can buy "better" and then have real reason to be disappointed. As an old man who inherited his father's channellock wire cutters and pliers, I saw fit to upgrade my large unbranded tongue and groove pliers with channellocks. There are never absolute guarantees, but if you expect complaints about a product, it should be a "good" product.

Pros
  • A good product for its price
Cons
  • Clarity

Excellent pliers with spikes and grooves.

These grooving and utility pliers look very good. With the exception of the color of the plastic coating on the handle, nothing seems to have changed in the design of the channel lock pliers in at least 30 years. I expect them to last the rest of my life and possibly the life of whoever inherits them when I die. I have a pair of green handle channellocks that are at least 30 years old, the plastic handle is dented, the chrome is worn and I've had to scrape rust off the bare metal on it recently

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Empty

Compact yet versatile

I bought these locks to tighten those hard to reach water connections on our RV. Grooves in the jaws ensure a good grip. The jaws are large enough to fit around a standard brass garden hose fitting, which I also found very handy for connecting and disconnecting water hoses for our RV. The overall size of Channellocks is very compact, making them easier to use when working in tight spaces around RV installations. They also fit easily in a pocket and are quite light. The handles are still long…

Pros
  • Tongue and Groove Pump Pliers Water Pliers Tools
Cons
  • No Instructions

Unbeatable channellock quality - you can't go wrong with this!

Channellock 440 are the staple of every box/box/kit/tool bag I own - should be 10-12 pairs between home, transport, work, running bag, etc. 442s are exactly what they should be - 440s with the best grip for all rounds. Be careful though - the pressure created by the lever in the long handle can easily crush something like PVC. They are well suited for cast iron pipe, aluminum fence posts and similar round materials. Add to that the fact that they're made in the USA (Pennsylvania to be exact)…

Pros
  • V JAWS for more contact points on round bottom flasks and tubes
Cons
  • High price

Love these pliers

I love these pliers and they are definitely one of my favorites. I disagree with the other reviewer about the V jaws. I also have a 10" non-V-jaw model (430) and for plumbing I prefer the V-jaw, but for most other things I usually use another, flat pair (430). both. Of the many different lock sizes, I find the 10-inch model to be the most useful in a variety of situations. I love that the jaws open to an amazing 2 inches of capacity and the handles have amazing leverage. Remember that when used

Pros
  • A secure PERMALOCK closure prevents nuts and bolts from breaking and increases adhesion
Cons
  • Easily wrinkled
