Description of Boost Your HD TV Antenna Signal with Chaowei High Gain Amplifier: Up to 50 Miles Range and 25dB Gain for Crystal Clear Reception!

Before buying an amplifier, pls check the signal strength and the distance to the tower in your area to determine if you need to add an amplifier to improve the reception. Add an amplifier to improve reception if: 1) You have a passive antenna; 2) Have obstacles between antenna and stations; 3) You TV indicates "weak" or "no signals" after running a channel scan. DO NOT recommend to use this signal amplifier if you're near a station's broadcast tower and the signals are already strong, otherwise, the USB Amplifier may cause self-oscillate and you may get fewer channels than without it. DO NOT recommend to use AMP unit for an already amplified antenna. Note: Channels reception will vary depending on your surroundings and how far away you are from broadcast towers as well as the spot where you put your antenna. Reminds: A signal booster doesn't add to strength of signal but improve the reception. The numbers of channels you'v got in your area is determined by what's being broadcast in your area.Channels reception will vary depending on your surroundings and how far away you are from broadcast towers as well as the spot where you put your antenna. Chaowei amplifier can work with any passive antenna including Chaowei potable tv antenna DVB66,DTA66 and DVB218 model; If you found receiving less channels after adding an amplifier, pls double check if you really need to add an amplifier to improve the reception or whether you need a long range outdoor antenna.

Mixed Results - Antennas

I got this amp to pair with a Chaowei Antenna. I can pick up most of my local stations with just one antenna and the booster doesn't add much power or signal quality to the channels I already get, but I find the booster allows me to pick up some stations that I do could not t. can't do without it. Even with both, I struggle to have a consistently good signal for my local ABC, NBC, and CBS affiliates.

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • Some Difficulties

Gain 25dB higher than other similar products

Works like a charm. Just installed LAVA HD8008 and split it into two TVs. The splitter in the junction box is outside the building, so it's not easy to get power for the included amplifier. Solution: Take this add-on and hook up an amplifier to each TV just before the coax cable goes in. Choose this. due to 1) price 2) 25dB of gain while others have 20dB 3) USB powered - just plug into one of the TV's USB ports.

Mandatory for use with Chaowei DVB66.

This amplifier has greatly improved the reception of my new Chaowei DVB66 indoor/outdoor TV antenna. I can only get 14 channels in my area and about half of them were "shady" until I hooked up an amplifier. Instantly, all channels became crystal clear and clear with no gaps. I think this amplifier is a must have for Chaowei DVB66 which is an excellent antenna despite its small size.

Buyers Attention: AV Accessories

I'm not a television or electronics engineer, I don't have a device to measure the input/output of the device. So I can't say how much signal amplification this device achieves. , or if present. But I can read it from the display on the TV. I bought this unit because I wanted to take care of the sporadic signal on the ABC channel. After I installed the device between the end of the antenna cable and the TV connector "from the antenna", not only was the problem with this channel not resolved, I…

Works as described. But not for long.

Bought to replace a 30 year old 70 channel cable amplifier. I'm sure the old device I have still works, but not as well as the new one I just got. I wasn't disappointed that I would magically start receiving a new channel. However, I bought this item to boost a signal that I was already able to pick up. I have quite a long queue and placed this little device in the middle as the queue enters the house. Already strong signals have not changed. However, the weaker signals went from 1 or 2 bars to

Bad design and non-functionality.

The device turns on and everything except the part that goes to the TV is small. USB turns on, but there is not enough power to amplify the signal. If you keep plugging and unplugging the USB port, it will spike and get more channels for a moment. This leads me to believe that the USB power it takes must be boosted USB, not conventional. You can't connect it to your TV as advertised and you can't connect it to a USB socket. I have to assume it requires 10-30 amps of power to work properly, not…

Pros
  • Decent performance

Excellent goods. It's small

Great product. It's small so doesn't take up much space. It was very easy to set up and connect. It also has a magnetic base which I think allows for a little more flexibility in placement. I live at the very edge of the coverage area and this antenna gives better reception and picks up a few more channels than flat antennas, even amplified ones, and it's not as finicky as the old DTV rabbit ear antennas. Wind and clouds can also severely impair reception; Chaowei seems to be able to do better…

Pros
  • Reminder: The signal booster does not increase signal strength, but improves reception. The number of channels available in your area is determined by what is broadcast in your area. Reception of channels depends on your environment, how far you are from broadcast towers and where you placed the antenna.
Cons
  • Some bugs

Didn't do much. - Accessories and Consumables

I am 35 miles from HD broadcast antennas down low. I had an RCA powered antenna in my patio at ceiling level and it worked fine except at certain times of the day. I tried another antenna highly recommended by Revain and it worked just as well (but no better) than the RCA antenna. However, the new antenna sits on the "fence" of my patio, not in the air. I tried the Chaowei High Gain TV Antenna Signal Booster on both and couldn't tell any difference. This allowed me to select more channels…

Pros
  • DO NOT recommend using this signal booster when you are near a broadcast tower and the signals are already strong, otherwise the USB booster may cause self-oscillation and you may receive fewer channels than without it
Cons
  • Long delivery time
