I have to admit I was skeptical but these hood pillars for our 2012 MDX actually seem stronger than the OEM ones. Printed instructions are ok if you see a short video online. Actually a lot easier than I thought and they seem stronger than the originals. Need a tailgate kit for my TSX Wagon but this seller doesn't seem to have it. Damn.

My springs were from a 2011 Acura MDX. Made in China so the written instructions were more fun than helpful. Was a little worried about the fiberglass tape limiter cutting through, but the compression force was only about 25lbf. It was easy to manipulate and install. Use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the small retaining spring clips. It took 10 minutes to uninstall and install both.

The original hood gas lifters failed on my 2011 Acura MDX and after looking at the replacement OEM price I decided to take risks based on reviews versus reviews from other vendors. The swap was easy, and the new jacks are certainly solid and confidently raise the hood automatically. They aren't as smooth as the originals, but honestly it doesn't matter as a bit of noise doesn't matter. Considering the price difference and my experience, this was a good choice.
