Doesn't charge Samsung Galaxy S20 'super fast'

I upgraded from a previous version of Samsung Galaxy and had to switch all chargers and cables from USB-Micro to USB-C. I paid a lot of dollars for wall chargers, cables and this 12V/48W car charger, expecting it to support "super fast" charge mode. All of the internal 120V charging ports I've bought work fine, but this car charger does NOT put the phone into "super fast" charging mode and it takes forever to build a charge. upset.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Doesn't go with everything

The best car charger. in Chargers & Adapters

I've owned it for almost a year. Works great as a quick charger. One thing I found out after many months of ownership was that I always had a Samsung Qi power bank with dual USB-C ports at 18W to charge the power bank. I connected USB-C to Lightning 30W. When I turn off the car, the power adapter powers the 18-watt charge port and powers any device plugged into the other port. I haven't read the full product description so I'm not sure if this is mentioned. This is a really cool feature.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not bad

Ports vary in maximum capacity with hard-to-read labels

Works great for a single high-power USB-C device when connected to the 'top' port. You cannot tell at a glance which port is performing. It would be better if Anker would color code the slots or highlight the markings. I dropped a star for a description that doesn't mention ports that support different max power and the problem is seeing which port is more powerful. Don't let the port labels put you off buying this car charger if you need to power a power-hungry USB-C device.

Xiaomi Poco F3

My phone can charge up to 33W with the original charger but only 12W with this one. Apparently this charger doesn't support Fast Charge 3.0, which Anker advertises as "compatible" with its powerIQ 3.0. It might have something to do with the voltages it handles, but I'm not sure. It might be ok to charge laptops, Apple products, or other special PD (Power Delivery) devices, but it couldn't charge a phone that normally uses Qualcomm's 3.0 fast charging. I'll leave the ampere application image, I…

It works well because it's thick

Not sure how thick it is, it's a car charger but it's great. I use it with a wireless phone mount in my car for work and it's great. The phone is an iPhone 11pro max and my phone never goes off while I'm at work, an issue that made me buy the Pro Max to start with as I use GPS, driving around, music about 8 hours a day listen, take calls and much more Phone is always fully charged. It helps that the 11 Pro Max battery is amazing, I don't even plug it in at night and still wake up with 98-99%…

Voltage and current don't matter. No power

This charger is great, but I see a lot of people say they expected it to charge phone "X" at super fast speed because it generates 30 watts, and then claim it didn't is working . It is not; It's just that the marketing of phones and chargers doesn't make it clear what watts mean and don't mean and why voltage and amperage are more important in determining charging speed. drawn current. So, 5 volts x 3 amps is 15 watts, 12 volts x 2.5 amps is 30 watts, etc. Phones are limited to charging at 5…

Quality product, excellent customer service

I've become a huge Anker fan. They make a quality product that does what it says on the tin and I now turn to them for cables and chargers for all my electronics. However, I recently had an issue with one of their new high quality "car" chargers that I was planning to use on my car. Boot (48W - 30W for my MacBook and 18W for my iPhone). When I connected it to my boat it didn't work. I sent it back to Revain, got a replacement and got the same result. So I called Anker support and spoke to…
