Improved stability with pool noodles :-)

I hooked this up to my 2003 Sportster with a Garmin Nuvi 1490. Everything worked fine except the plastic rim bounced off the ball. So I cut a piece of pool noodle around the stem and carefully and neatly glued it in place. Traveled 3 days, stood the whole time. It was the perfect solution to make a pretty decent product even better. I gave it 5 stars (although I used pool noodles) because I thought the price matched the quality.

NOT SEEN THE GPS SCREEN

I don't know if this case actually protects the GPS from water. What I can say is that the workmanship is particularly poor when it comes to how the clear window is sewn into the case. The plastic window has been sewn to make it wavy, and the wavy surface, not anti-glare, catches and reflects light so the GPS screen is not visible regardless of the relative incidence of the sun or the time of day. I can't even see the screen at night. It's a smart idea that's poorly executed and not worth the…

Good case, I put in my Garmin nüvi

Nice case, I put in my Garmin nüvi I'm in. I installed it on a fz09 handlebar and it seems solid. I may need to order a special power cable for this as the power connector is on the back of the Garmin and not at the bottom where the cable entry hole is. I can also cut and modify the spacers they send along, it won't be too difficult. Some have claimed GPS overheating, which I haven't fully tested yet, but I live in Texas where I can certainly confirm or deny this. Generally a good case, give it

The box makes a solid impression and is easy to assemble.

Installation on my bike was very easy. It comes with several different sized foam sheets to fill the space behind your GPS so it is in contact with the plastic screen protector on the front. The flash worries me. It's water resistant but very stiff in the cold and doesn't seem to hold up well if you frequently remove the GPS module at the end of your rides. The only purchase I recommend is buying a USB cable that plugs into your GPS at a right angle. My GPS has an off-center USB charging port…

Great case for my GPS. Did it shelter in the rain (light rain)?

I got this because I wanted to mount my nüvi 255w on my bike and protect it from water/rain. It worked. Only problem is the cable slot is on the side like others have said but I don't care. One thing I had to do was model where my USB cable would go and cut out a slot for the foam pads to support it. (includes 3.2 thick and 1 thin). It wasn't really important, but I thought I'd let anyone who wants to get this case know. It is also great as a holder and protects it from water. I haven't tested…

The case is easy to mount on the handlebars of my Yamaha Roadstar.

Just completed a 10 day 4300 mile trip using this GPS case every mile. It fits my Garmin Nuvi perfectly and has protected it from a few small showers. There was a torrential downpour and some moisture got into the suitcase, but the same downpour also soaked my raincoat and waterproof bags. Actually it didn't matter and wouldn't stop me from recommending the product. The bag easily attached to the handlebars of my Yamaha Roadstar 1600 and held the GPS in place very securely. I had a 50 mile…

Works very well

I used it on a 2500 mile motorcycle trip and it worked very well. I had to change the foam inserts to accommodate the fact that my Garmin has the power connector on the side instead of the middle. Foam inserts have a slot in the center of the bottom, and the cord also enters the case through the center of the bottom. It's not really important, but something to be aware of. One problem I had was that the GPS device would overheat and the screen would go blank for a while. After it cooled and…
