Mine worked great, did what it was supposed to do. Not sure why some others had issues, maybe the quality control isn't top notch? However. I love mine and the long cord is a blessing. The factory cord is only about 5 feet long and won't loosen when plugged in. The Charger City model has enough cable to avoid over-pulling.

I didn't realize I didn't get rid of this product, I hope I didn't pay for it. I was considering the charger that came with the Garmin and realized that the item in the photo is not what I have. Arrived on time. But it's supposed to be for use with My GPS (Nuvi 2757). When I connected it to my GPS, a message appeared on the GPS screen stating that this charger will NOT charge my GPS, only power it. So I have to assume it's not delivering the full 2A of current. I ordered 2 of these separately for my Garmin DVR. After a few minutes, the device turns on and off continuously every few seconds, both. So this must be a common problem with this product. I returned both. Another time I ordered 3 of them in one order but they were different from the photo, possibly an older model (slightly shorter and thinner cable, oval plug). This cable is NOT shielded. When I plugged it in, my FM radio started emitting noise galore. When I went back to the Nuvi OEM cable, there was no static electricity. When buying a cable, make sure it is shielded; it's not like this.
