Bad business practice!

should have been a 4.030 but I couldn't get the pistons into the 4.030 hole after a few tries initially. I have a lot of time and money

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • The old

Did I miss something?

After the first tool didn't work I ordered a second one thinking I just got a bad tool. Unfortunately, the second was no different. Tool. The small end (motor side) of both tools measured 4.053 inches. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how that can work with a 4.030" bore.

Pros
  • Good job

The best tool for installing pistons!

This thing is amazing. I used a belt for the first few pistons until it failed and worked fine from the start. After getting this thing it's just amazing it's like bam! the butt is up. I actually had to pull the pistons out a few times even to check the clearances between the pin bosses and the crank counterweights, this tool made life easier, highly recommend.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Negativity is present

The right tool for engine assembly.

If after all that other stuff you have to buy at the jock you have a few bucks more but a cone ring compressor. It's a shame to use such a quality tool once and you're done, but it guarantees you can get rings in the cylinder without damage from those cheaper and poorly designed ribbon compressors. Lubricate the tool as you install each piston and they line up as #@&*$. Really nice and highly recommended!

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • A little service friendly

Worked great for my 4.030 pistons

Used this on a SBC 350 project with 0.030 pistons. This was my first build and the first time I've used this product and had no problems. Everything was smooth and I have no problems with this product. Be sure to lubricate the entire piston prior to installation. I even used it to help install the one-piece rubber main bearing washer/boot. Tilt the motor so that you mount it parallel to the floor. This allows you to do one row at a time and reach the connecting rod caps after you've inserted…

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Hard to tell
