I was very surprised when my petite 5 year old was wearing the size 5 plants I brought and they didn't fit. They were actually too short, which is never the case with my daughter because she is so petite. I trusted the product description that it was true to size but that is not our experience. For me it was a waste of money. I am extremely disappointed.

My daughter is not a tall girl, but she is not short either, she is 9 years old, her height and weight are about average. She had outgrown her school uniform at a size 8 and I *tried* to get her a better size 10. These pants are skinny like an 8 at the waist and long like a 10 in the legs. Worse, they're spiky, the fit is long (the seam of which rubbed against her legs all day making her comfortable) and one of the buttons fell off the first wash.

I bought these in size 5T as uniform pants for my very tall 3.5 year old. At that age I put cuffs on my butt and over the years they started to fit better. I deliberately chose this pair because many other reviewers have mentioned that they are too skinny for their kids. I have a skinny kid (perfect for the Carter brand, swims in garanimals) so I was excited to read this and try it. I love that these pants have an adjustable waist and are durable and comfortable.
