Bought for my 2005 Silverado Crew Cab. Looks the same as the factory controller. I did NOT have to reset the device first, I just followed the exact instructions on the website for programming the remote. However, I had to reprogram both the new one and the two old ones. It was all done at once and was very easy with the instructions. Excellent purchase!

At first I couldn't program the remote controls. After numerous attempts, including one from a Chevy dealer who found that the ID on FOB was NOT recognized by Chevy, I was willing to return it for my money.
