Works great but a bit thick

Does what it says and does what it says, just a bit thick for my application. I'll follow the advice of others and add some flux to thin it out.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

In my opinion this is marginal for fine pitch SMD screen printing

The product seems a bit thick for using large pitch SMD (0.400mm). Although the paste doesn't need to be refrigerated, it will thicken over time. I used it and it worked, but I didn't like it as much as the unavailable FCT solder paste. However, no better source of any available lead-based solder paste has yet been found.

Pros
  • Lead coated
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Good solder paste for DIY assembly but no venting.

Sold as an alternative to KESTER brand solder. This is fine for a small at home PCB build BUT there is no plastic part in the kit that allows you to remove the air between the cap and the solder paste yourself so it gets thick and thick pretty quickly. On the one hand, with a small container that would be used up relatively quickly, that wouldn't be a problem, but with so many, it's hard to stay in shape until it's all gone.

Pros
  • Solder Paste
Cons
  • Socket required

Good paste, best for welding and soldering

This paste has been returned/reordered. The replacement paste seems to work pretty well. I agree that the paste is thicker than some, but I have no problem using it as is and I have no preference between thickness. Just note that this paste is not the thermally stable version and it is recommended to keep it in the fridge. The data sheet says: > 12 months refrigerated, > 6 months without refrigeration. Expect some separation if not refrigerated. Old Review: I wish I could take a picture…

Pros
  • No cleaning
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
