    That's good for the base.

Windows only recognizes it as a SCSI connection, not a USB 3 connection The 2TB drive that works with my other docks didn't work with this one but with another laptop with a 500 GB hard drive didn't fit in the slot and I had to hold the door tight, but it worked. I tried a SanDisk SSD but this docking station didn't recognize it at all, maybe a formatting issue. If you just need a basic migration or backup, this might work.

    Pros
    • understandable even for the old ones

    • I won't say anything

    Good inexpensive docking station

I didn't know if my drive was 2.5" or 3.5" as I hadn't opened the case yet. I got a new computer, but on the old one I had some stuff that I didn't have time to translate. It costs less than $20 with shipping and arrived in 2 days. While many docking stations or enclosed hard drive enclosures were either 2.5" or 3.5", both would work. This does the same as the closed case but is not included. You can still use it as an external hard drive. This worked for my needs. And worth the money.

    The copier works great!

I've tried a few of these copiers. This is the first that worked as advertised. It's plastic, of course, but looks very solid and well-made. I highly recommend this product. I duplicated a 1TB drive but I can't tell how long it took. I started and went to bed, and in the morning everything was ready. I checked the files (all movie files for my DVR). I randomly tested some of them (couldn't play all 300+ movies :)) and they all played as expected.

Works great - Hard drive accessory

Needed to restore the contents of an old laptop hard drive that won't boot. Used this to connect the drive to another computer and was able to fix the drive and recover everything. Went like clockwork.

    Faulty Project Computers & Accessories

I've spent some time getting it to work but I don't think it will work. The dock itself is recognized by the computer as a USB drive, but any hard drive I put in it isn't recognized or acknowledged at all, nothing happens, no fuss can find and access it. I've tried this with multiple hard drives (one of which came from a computer that I know works) and connected to multiple different computers to no avail. I guess it's still possible I'm doing something wrong since there's no documentation, but

    • Great Price
    Cons
    • Expensive

This worked like clockwork for several months until I installed an old 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001 hard drive in one of the slots. I have some hard drives and have run some tests. The dock quickly messed up the GPT table for the 14TB WB drive and the 3TB Toshiba drive when the 3TB Seagate was in a different slot. Damage occurs quickly and reproducibly; It didn't matter which slot the Seagate 3TB was in. I found another thread: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3D53KA2UBP29O/ref=cm_cr_srp_d…

Works great for computers and accessories

Works great and fast when plugged into a USB 3 port I use it to boot Linux Mint on my wife's Windows 10 laptop. At first I couldn't get it to boot. I found out that the laptop sees this as a USB drive (not a SATA drive) and I want the first partition to be in FAT32 format. No problem. I just made a small FAT32 partition for bootloader/bootloader and then formatted the rest of the drive for Linux (I chose ext2 for read/write limitation) and now it boots every time. I threw away some old SATA…

Worth every penny and then some. A must if you want to clone a drive.

Awesome. If you ever need to clone a drive, there is no easier way. Literally insert both discs (make sure the source and destination are correct!). turn it on Press the "twice" key (read instructions on the Internet). Then do something else. I cloned some old hard drives to SSDs. It's worth every penny and then some. Note. If you move from a smaller drive to a larger one, you still have to deal with partitioning to get extra space, but that's not the device's fault. It's just part of the…

With ASMedia chip, USB 3.0 interface and cloning, everything works!

ASMedia chip gives me 5*. The main overview is in the next paragraph, followed by some instructions and subtleties. I've owned it for 5 months now and have used it a lot. Perfect performance with sufficient speed. I've used it for backups and offline cloning. The documentation isn't outstanding, but it's okay. Durable Feel; The power and USB cables appear to be firmly seated in their sockets, but don't kick them! The ASMedia chip has a good reputation, so I think further work will go smoothly…
