A must have for anyone using Ultimate GPS Breakout

I've owned 3 Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout V3 units and they all had GPS antennas that were accurate to within 7-10 meters or completely broken. With this antenna I got raw values up to 1.5 meters from the actual one. Worth every penny.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Expandable

Worked great with Adafruit GPS Hut for my Raspberry PI

Connected directly to my PI Hut. The included cord is only about 6 inches long, so I bought an extension cord. After that I was able to mount the antenna a bit higher in my network rack and now I get a near perfect GPS signal indoors on a nearly full network rack. Ideal solution for PI NTP Layer 0.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Something else

Worth the money if you need it "sooner " than a slow boat from China.

I bought this antenna to replace the same size antenna (unknown gain but I suspect +28dB) that came with the uBlox NEO-6M board was delivered. I managed to destroy my original antenna, I suspect due to electrostatic discharge. Anyway, I don't see any performance difference between old and new, but it's better to work well than not work.

Pros
  • Voltage 3-5VDC, Current 10mA
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Worked great with Adafruit GPS header for my Raspberry PI

Connected directly to my PI header. The included cord is only about 6 inches long, so I bought an extension cord. After that I was able to mount the antenna a bit higher in my network rack and now I get a near perfect GPS signal indoors on a nearly full network rack. Ideal solution for PI NTP Layer 0.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Hard to tell

For small GPS units with external antenna

Active gain, active antenna works great with small GPS units with external antenna. You will usually get an antenna, but generally not a higher gain active antenna. These "as supplied" antennas work moderately well outdoors, but indoor GPS needs a bit more gain. These antennas work very well indoors. Place a 5 cm x 5 cm thin sheet of steel as a soil layer under the antenna and the antenna will operate at maximum gain. Used in my lab for accurate indoor satellite imagery and works very well. Use

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Clarity

My NEO-6M GPS receiver works internally. We need a base plate.

This antenna made all the difference when I replaced it with the antenna that came with my (standard) ublock-6m GPS module. This is an ACTIVE antenna measuring approximately 1.125 inches. It comes with an IPEX connector. It is very important to know whether your GPS module requires an active or passive antenna. They are NOT interchangeable. The antenna "works" technically by itself. , but for best performance place it on a small ground plane (a piece of metal about 3 inches square makes a big…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Non-Automatic
