Backup router on computer and accessories

Lots of options with this router but our router died after 1 year and I don't know why. Maybe I only got one lemon, but I bought another one. Every company gets a second chance. I hope this one is better

Pros
  • Centrally managed via internet
Cons
  • Requires socket

Tons of features, reliable so far

We've had our first MX64 for about 3 months and couldn't be happier. It offers everything we need for routing and security and more with client-level content control and monitoring. An Advanced Security license is required. The box itself won't do anything. We didn't buy ours from Revain. Much easier to use than older Cisco products.

Pros
  • Layer 7 traffic analysis and shaping
Cons
  • ---

Abyssal Customer Support

If you call Meraki Support, expect to be suspended indefinitely, about 1+ hour before you need to hang up. And not on a bad day either. I only got through to them once and when I was finally able to speak to the agent she gave me the wrong information which ruined everything for my client. An application via email did not result in a reply within 3 weeks, so this front is not efficient either. Pretty bad.

Pros
  • Stateful firewall throughput: 250Mbps
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Abysmal Customer Support

When calling Meraki Support, expect to be banned indefinitely, e.g. B. 1+ hour before finally being forced to hang up. And not on a bad day either. I only got through to them once and when I was finally able to speak to the agent she gave me the wrong information which ruined everything for my client. An application via email did not result in a reply within 3 weeks, so this front is not efficient either. Pretty bad.

Pros

Cisco Meraki Security Appliance

I have always used Cisco communication devices at work and their performance has always been excellent. Before the Meraki line, I mainly had to manage IOS command line hardware. Cisco Meraki Security Appliances (MX), Switching (MS) and Wireless (MR) are easy to integrate and all settings are made from the control panel. Updates are downloaded from their cloud and configurations are saved as well. Site-to-Site and Client VPN work flawlessly. The only thing I have with the Meraki line is that…

Pros
  • Recommended maximum number of clients: 50
Cons
  • Expandable
