Moving from novice to leatherworking means you need to expand your toolbox. This adjustable device frames your leather goods for a more professional look.

I am a professional leather worker. I have a few grooves and chamfers. While it's nice to have dedicated tools for this, it's also useful to have such a versatile tool, especially for my travel kit. Works as it should, there is nothing more to say about it, I just like the benefit.

Works great despite the low price. None of the bevel cuts were impressive, but it still slices 8 ounces very easily. If I take the time to sharpen everything better it will be a great bargain for a small price. Even without it, it's a great tool. A grooving tool will require you to press harder than you expect or it will vibrate and clog, but once you get it right it works great.

The packaging is cheap, so is the rest. I try to buy cheap stuff to save money but mostly you get what you pay for. The tools are inaccurate and difficult to use. I'm in no way an expert, but you can tell it won't be easy to use or durable. I haven't thrown it away yet, but I will soon!

The flute nozzle is too small and blunt. It just creates a groove by pressing into the skin, which you can do with a screwdriver. The groove it "cuts" is much smaller than any leather thread I've ever worked with, which completely defeats the purpose of the tool. This tool gets 2 stars because beveled edges work well with it. If it wasn't for that, I would have gotten 1 star.

Ideal for working with multiple leatherworking tools, especially if you want to avoid spending $30 or more on single function tools when just practicing amateur skinwork. Do separate, more expensive, single-purpose tools work better? Probably yes. But the difference in price is significant and the difference in quality in actual performance is negligible if you use the tool correctly and with a reasonable level of fluency.
