My mother is 97! According to the audiologist, she has a severe to profound hearing loss. Talking to your mom is SOOOOOOO much better with this phone. She quickly learned to control the volume. Thing works. I bought it for my 100+ year old father who is in a nursing home. Even he could hear that call and when he wasn't in the room it was so loud and annoying that a member of staff came over to pick up and let me know what was going on.
