Aptly named item for sewing

Arrived on time. Sometimes we need help and we only have two hands, but this clip really comes in handy, especially when you need to almost completely disassemble the stitching.

Such a cool retro gadget

My great grandmother used to have one of these which she called something like a "sewing bird". I was intrigued when I saw this and very glad I ordered it. It's just great to have something to hold projects for a variety of sets. Works very well. The rope seems a bit flimsy, but it's easy to fix if it breaks. You can sew your whole life and not miss this gadget, but it made my heart sing to use what my great grandmother used and make everything old new again.

Great tool!

I've seen historical sewing "birds" that have a clasp and a small "beak" to provide a "third" hand when hand sewing, especially long seams since they allow constant tension. Factory. I regret that they are no longer available today - but I was wrong! Although there is no "bird" shape, this device does the same! I LOVE IT! It screws onto a sewing table or similar surface and then attaches to the edge of my fabric, holding it securely for me to tighten while I sew my period costume reproductions.

  • Everything is fine!

Useful tool

This extra hand provides a nice firm grip. The arm opens 1.5 inches to attach to a table of the same thickness or less with a rubber washer to give it a grip factor. The "hand" is held firmly between the jaws with rubber pads. to the grip factor of the jaws. As you can see in the photo I provided, the cheek grips are held in place by metal tabs. New, the handles don't hang from thin fabric because the tabs are snug against the rubber pad, but that's something to watch out for The weak…

  • Easy to read control panel

If you sew by hand, you need this.

Seriously. If you sew EVER, you need this pup! Even if you don't hand sew, the ability to age a seam as you rip it apart is worth its weight in gold! The only downside is that the thread that comes with the kit is fragile and will break in a few days. I just pocketed it with durable waxed material and that's it! If you've ever hand sewn and wished your stitches were better, they really are 100% better when a third hand holds the edge. Hand hemming, darning, etc. goes much better with a little…
