Great bit for CNC tuning.

Cuts like butter. This was bought as a birthday present for a friend who pumps out a lot of custom orders each week. The beat works well considering how many projects have been completed and how long it has been used on each project (30 minutes to 1 hour of continuous use per project). Performance is similar to the Freud 75-100 1/8" x 1/2" spiralizer with 1/4" shank that was purchased at the same time.

Pros
  • For use on machining centers, sharpening machines, CNC milling machines
Cons
  • Damaged

Good quality router bit

I was a little nervous about using such a small router bit on a post router. After roughing up the 1/2" birch plywood I tried the cutting an entire 1/2" depth in one pass. I was cutting material about 1/8" and 1/2" thick and the cutter burned and dulled pretty quickly. I knew better and next time I will only cut 1/8" deep in many passes in hopes the tool will be cooler.

Pros
  • 1/2" length of cut, 2 cutting edges, right hand rotation
Cons
  • New competition arrived

Previously great for routing parts and accessories

I used this bit on my usual expensive aluminum router with CNC in a pinch. I originally bought this bit to cut MDF, but when I was in the middle of a job and the other one broke, I installed it in my router and expected it to break within minutes. I turned some parts out of 6061-t6 aluminum and it turned out great. I just ordered another one and will continue to test it cutting aluminum. I hope they hold up well enough to give up my more expensive bits.

Pros
  • Also for use on hand routers with chucks or adapters
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
