Good router bad seller

This router works great on my CNC when I need to plan an MDF desktop. Unfortunately, the seller did a terrible job of finding the right packaging for the device, as other buyers have noted. I received mine in a large plastic tube that had more than enough room for the bit to shake and inevitably found that 2 of the 3 carbide bits were broken off. Disappointing, but thankfully the earbuds have four sides and aren't that difficult to rotate. Bit gets 5 stars but not 2 stars because of terribleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Great part - will not work with my 1/2 " Makita router.

I am insane about this attachment which appears to be excellent quality at a very reasonable price Bought it so I could use it in my 1/2" router. Realizing that a 1/2" (12.7mm) collet will NOT grip a 12mm bit, I turned to CMC and Makita. CMT said they didn't have a solution and Makita said they don't offer a 12mm collet for their machine here in the US and they contacted CMT. I ended up returning the CMT stick and bought an Amana spoilerboard stick for double the price. It was possible to findโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

NEED 12MM COLLET for straight, twisted and cutting bits

Looks like a decent quality bit. As others have pointed out, the packaging is silly. All they have to do is wrap it in a piece of paper or styrofoam, but they just toss a precision instrument into a loose plastic tube to rattle until it arrives (mine was undamaged on arrival). The most important thing to know is that it will not fit the standard 1/2" router collet that most US routers have. The 1/2" milling collet is lightweight and even seems to tighten (you can't move it with your hands)โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
