Description of CO Z Large Spiral Groove Drill

The step drill bit is made from upgraded high speed steel characterized by well-balanced toughness, wear resistance and red hardness properties for better and faster hole -drilling performance. The titanium coating makes the drill bit more durable so that it can last for years with uncompromised quality. The dual-flute design prevents metal fillings from flying around and clears chips faster thus it can drill more smoothly without heating up. The rapid strike tip drills twice as fast as the average step drills and can drill acrylic, PVC, wood, aluminum and iron sheets up to 0.2’’ in thickness. Our drill bit is bigger in size so it can drill holes with larger dimensions. 12 hole sizes: 1/4; 3/8; 19/32; 3/4; 1'; 1'3/16; 1'3/8; 1'5/8; 1'3/4; 2'; 2'3/16; 2'3/8.

I hand drill holes in 2/3/4" round PVD tubing to create hydroponic systems. I can easily cut a 2" diameter hole in a round surface with this drill bit. It avoids the "bit walk" I get with flat hex bits and costs a lot less than a Forstner bit. It works great for me. It also covers various sizes up to 2 3/8. Its diameter and weight are much larger than traditional step drill bits, and it can be used on a drill press and a lathe. I will not hesitate to buy another one if needed.

Does it claim to be able to cut aluminum up to 0.2 " thick?

I bought this to drill a 2" hole in .185" thick aluminum and was looking for something that I thought would improve the smoothness of cut and dimensional stability over the hole saws I use. (I have smaller pitch drills from another manufacturer that do just that.) This drill could not effectively cut a 2" hole in .185 aluminum. I used a drill press at the right speed and cutting oil as I did with the smaller step drill bits that worked so well. I ended up wasting my time and money on this…

ONLY for wood and thin aluminum sheet.

I searched "1.5" stainless steel drill bits. It was 3rd place in the list of 8 stainless steel round hole drill bits. I skipped the last part of the description which talked about thin sheet aluminum and wood. I have before ordered a full set of these for stainless steel and they have worked great on thicker metal than I have drilled. They just weren't big enough for my current project. I already had a starting hole and couldn't even enlarge it 1/16". I realize I was wrong on the bit type, I'm…
