Works so well! The only part of the ship that wasn't there.

We bought them for our cruises. Works so well! The only part of the ship that didn't work was when we were on main deck 16 we couldn't reach anyone on deck 5. It must have something to do with the fact that everything is metal down there. no windows because it worked on level 6 where there were windows. We've automatically set our walkie-talkies to a private channel so we don't have conflicts with other passengers. We also "phoned/called" to get other people's attention before we spoke, so that

Good radios for everyday use

I reordered these after losing one on a moose hunt. They work very well and usually surprise me how far they go through wooded areas. From the top of the mountain I was confident that the main road could be driven 4 miles with perfect clarity. We use them daily from house to barn and they hold up well. We've broken on a few of these belt clips in the past, so you really need to put them in your pocket or somewhere you can't snag them. The flashlight downstairs came in handy during the extendedโ€ฆ

Fantastic compared to others I've tried!

I tried a similar device from Midland. The Midland didn't last more than 8 hours on a charge, plus the range was very poor based on testing in my area. What I learned from the reviews on this Cobra is to try other batteries, so I ordered Duracell 2450mAh rechargeable batteries. What a huge difference in life expectancy! I also bought a plug-in charger that speeds up the charging process. It comes with a charging station that can hold two devices. I also read that you don't use chargers orโ€ฆ

Better quality and longer range than my Cobra CX335

My wife and I live off the grid on 65 acres of wooded land. When I'm working outside or she's walking around, we like to keep in touch. I used to buy a couple of Cobra CX335 walkie-talkies, but one of them broke after three years of heavy use. After looking at the amount of different models I decided to order these Cobra ACXT545 walkie talkies which claim to have a long range. After frequently changing the batteries in the old pair, I wanted the new walkie-talkies to be sitting in the chargingโ€ฆ

NOT SO UPDATE Very good radios. WON'T SWITCH OFF

ANOTHER UPDATE: NOW BOTH RADIOS WILL NOT SWITCH OFF. MUST REMOVE BATTERY TO TURN IT OFF. ONE YEAR UPDATE: The range seems to have decreased. A handset now won't turn off with the button, so I have to remove the battery to turn it off. NOW DISAPPOINTED. Very nice pair of radios My wife and I drive the van and SUV to the campsite and we use them on the way and find the van at camp and back at camp - so much better than hand signals or shouts! Bought these to replace a Midlands set that failedโ€ฆ
